Now I wish he hadn't, we're on the verge of signing McAteer.

Aptly Pathetic.

Why?

Why are we signing him or why pathetic ?

Fair point Ciara.

If this is just a starter then maybe not so pathetic, but it fitted this daft AP convention that's crept onto the board.

He's not my idea of a big name signing. If Liverpool didn't want him and Blackburn don't, what's in it for us ?

A failed right winger - just what we need!

Where did you see the story about McAteer, Pit Bill?

You're not just winding us up by any chance are you?

Why are we signing him? And there's Poyet available for 2mil. :-(

I don't want McAteer, he's just an Irish scally.

...and he's USELESS

icNewcastle are now saying McAteer is definitely NOT signing for us. Bobby never expressed interest. The rumour came about from the player saying he'd like to play for us.

But as he's apparently been let go by Blackburn, I suppose he'd like to play anywhere at this point. ;-)

Clarky

Better late than never, or maybe, in my case, better never than late.

I was digging around on that NewsNow site, but looks like it was smoke without fire. It was the way they worded it - all done and dusted, according to them.

And then the Sunday papers put paid to whatever scraps of credibilty the story had left. Once again, I wish I'd kept me big gob shut.
