Hallooooooo!

Answers

Fools, it be almost 9:30.

I'm going for my first bikini wax on Thursday. Yikes! Y'all don't know how badly I want to shop. Gap has the cutest little striped '70s bag and J Crew has this one shoulder tank I want and a dress and a fun pool hat. It's all too much.

Hi girls!

371 Commonwealth Ave., Boston, MA 02115

Hmm. Clothes. Vegas. I'm thinking for Saturday night, my rockstar shoes, a black halter and black skirt. And shiny lip gloss. I wore it to Lucinda and felt good in it.

Oh, one of my readers has an in at Stila and wants to send me free stuff. Suggestions?

-- Anonymous, June 12, 2001

Free Stila?? Why do you need suggestions. TAKE IT!

I'm bringing 2 black skirts, I'll probably live in them.

-- Anonymous, June 12, 2001

DAMMIT. My email sucks. It never sends, I have tor eboot my computer after I've already turned it on - pisses me off.

I'm bringing my pink cashmere halter top, my shiny black pants, my happy fun pants, a few more halter tops - basically, I plan on bringing anything I'd otherwise wear to the Clermont Lounge.

-- Anonymous, June 12, 2001

T - that's the perfect way to think about it. Vegas is just one big ole Clermont Lounge.

I'm looking for a cute happy fun shopping day outfit. I really want this dress from J Crew, but I doubt it would even look good on me.

-- Anonymous, June 12, 2001

The Yankee wedding was actually really nice. Lots of odd European people, but that's okay. Western Mass is beautiful - I had no idea. Connecticut was a trip - I met many Anulewicz's.

-- Anonymous, June 12, 2001

What day is shopping day? I forgot about that - I should have bought that cute Ralph Lauren sundress that was on sale at Nordstrom last night. It was too big, though. God, y'all. So many beautiful outfits, but even on sale, the one I really wanted was $800. Which is totally out of the question.

-- Anonymous, June 12, 2001

Lord. $800? Jaysus.

I know. Free Stila. How cool is that?

-- Anonymous, June 12, 2001

I think Friday is shopping day? I don't know. I just wanta cute daytime outfit too.

-- Anonymous, June 12, 2001

Oh, then I won't worry about Friday. What will Saturday be?

A giant Clermont Lounge? Sweet.

-- Anonymous, June 12, 2001

The Stila lip glosses are pretty cool.

-- Anonymous, June 12, 2001

I have one of them. Can't remember which.

We can be flexible on the shopping day.

Oh, and my parents weren't flooded too badly. It sucked being flooded in, but it had receded to the curb by Sunday, at least. And my parents also have the Mormon emergency food supply so even if they were flooded in for weeks, the family would have plenty to eat.

-- Anonymous, June 12, 2001

Yeah, we can shop Saturday too or whatever. There's no schedule. I just want quality time with the flamingos.

-- Anonymous, June 12, 2001

I want quality time with the poolside daiquiris. Do you think they have waiters who come to your chair? They do at the rooftop pool in Boston.

-- Anonymous, June 12, 2001

Oh, I'm sure. They'd HAVE to, right? I think in one of the pools there's a swim up bar.

-- Anonymous, June 12, 2001

Oh, see, that's genius. The rooftop pool doesn't let you drink in the bar.

-- Anonymous, June 12, 2001

Lord, am I an idiot. You meant suggestions for Stila products. I too, am a big fan of the all over shimmer. I've just learned to never put in on my eyelids as it runs into my eyes and major stinging commences. But they have that new Eye Glaze which l looks kind of cool. They also have a Stila Body Shimmer whihc is scented and excellent. AND they have Stila Sport and all of those products are perfect for the girl on the go.

I want your readers. Damn.

-- Anonymous, June 12, 2001

Now, are the drinks free everywhere, or just in the casino itself? That's a question that's been at the top of my mind.

-- Anonymous, June 12, 2001

Only in the casino. But they're regular priced elsewhere, which surprised me.

Why must J Crew be so expensive. WHY.

-- Anonymous, June 12, 2001

Do you have the URL for the dress? Share.

-- Anonymous, June 12, 2001

Because they hate us. I want the J. Crew jeans with the two pockets in the front, but I'm trying not to wear jeans so much. Oh well.

-- Anonymous, June 12, 2001

The epinions on the Flamingo Hilton had it at 3.5 stars out of 5. About what I expected. The number one Con is that it's a slow/old casino. But I don't expect we'll really hang there much besides sleeping and the pool. There are much better/more exciting casinos. (And dollar craps and blackjack!) But the pool area is 15 acres. That's so cool!

-- Anonymous, June 12, 2001

Ooh, that's cute. You know what I don't like about the J Crew site, though? The pictures of their dresses look so frumpy, even when the dress isn't. They should put the dresses on models, or a dummy, or something, already.

-- Anonymous, June 12, 2001

Oh! Precious dress.

Kevin asked me Sunday "Did you tell Hannah to send me birthday present suggestions?" and I said "No, why, did she send you the earrings from Tiffany's that are like figure eights with pearls inside the open spaces?" So I covered the earrings I couldn't find a link to, too. Heh.

-- Anonymous, June 12, 2001

Hee.

I'm fond of this outfit - what do y'all think of the color? It looks like a deep fuscia - would it be appropriate for the wedding this weekend? I was going to go with a shorter skirt, but seeing that it's our first outing with my family as an engaged couple, I thought I might go with a longer skirt. I bet I could wear this for a shower, too.

-- Anonymous, June 12, 2001

You're crazy. That cracks me. He probably thinks I'm insane.

I'm not a big fan of J Crew overall. I think they're WAY overpriced. Like that one-shoulder tank (that I love.) It's cotton. It's SIXTY dollars.

-- Anonymous, June 12, 2001

Oh, J Crew is totally over priced. I think BR is expensive, but the quality of their stuff is better than the J Crew stuff. Plus, if they mark the item down within two weeks (and they always do, they'll give you the difference. I love that.

-- Anonymous, June 12, 2001

The link didn't work for me. Is it a dress or a skirt and top?

-- Anonymous, June 12, 2001

It's a skirt and a top.

-- Anonymous, June 12, 2001

Oh, that's pretty. And I'm not usually an Ann Taylor fan.

-- Anonymous, June 12, 2001

Me neither. I like it a lot, though, and I like the color. I think it will be appropriate for a 7:30 wedding. Hopefully they have it in the store. Nordstrom kills me - they never have the stuff on their website in the store.

-- Anonymous, June 12, 2001

Ann Taylor probably will. I can't concentrate on work. I just want to get through this week, get through this weekend, and think happy Vegas thoughts.

-- Anonymous, June 12, 2001

This month is crawling. Probably because it's the birthday month and I'm just too excitied for Vegas etc.

-- Anonymous, June 12, 2001

http://www.replacements.com/top500flatware/top500flatware.htm

Go pick out a silver pattern already, Hannah. T thinks you'll like Repousse by Kirk Steiff, but I'm betting on something simpler, like Towle's Fiddle Thread.

-- Anonymous, June 12, 2001

I think I've settled on Royal Danish, by International. There will always be a special place in my heart for Acorn, by Georg Jensen, but it's $180 vs. $660 for a place setting, and if I go with Royal Danish, I'll be able to concentrate on collecting asparagus servers and olive forks, rather than just place settings.

-- Anonymous, June 12, 2001

I think that if I ever can afford to collect enough Chrysanthemum place settings, I will look for a complimentary pattern for asparagus servers, etc. My love for Chrysanthemum runs too deep.

But Royal Danish is SO similar. It's hardly a compromise.

-- Anonymous, June 12, 2001

I know. I mean, the knife handle on Acorn is exquisite, but Royal Danish is so similar. And I'll be able to have so many more pieces, and I'm sure there's more estate silver, too.

I think I'll take an early lunch to hit Ann Taylor.

-- Anonymous, June 12, 2001

There are so many! I didnt' see the one T thought I would like.

Alencon Lace is very similar to what my mom has. I like that.

But how do you choose? It would take me weeks to look at every pattern that way.

-- Anonymous, June 12, 2001

You know your pattern when you see it. It's true. The same goes for china - I never saw a pattern that struck me until I caw Chinois Blue by Mottahedeh last week. I saw it, and that was that.

Of course, our crystal will be Lismore by Waterford - it's what boto our mothers have. That one was a no-brainer.

-- Anonymous, June 12, 2001

http://www.replacements.com/webquote/KISREP.htm

Alencon Lace looks like what my mother has, too. All those Gorham patterns look alike to me.

-- Anonymous, June 12, 2001

Yeah, that one is a little too much for me.

-- Anonymous, June 12, 2001

I just had the garlickiest lunch. Leftovers from dinner- Zatarain's Garlic and Butter rice with chicken sauteed in garlic oil. Why does rice from a box always taste better reheated?

-- Anonymous, June 12, 2001

http://www.dinnerwarecentral.com/Pages/Noritake/Pages/white% 20palace.htm

I think I've found my china, girls. It's very similar to my mother's, even.

-- Anonymous, June 12, 2001

I've been sucked into that digink.net site and her archives. That girl is the definition of a train wreck.

-- Anonymous, June 12, 2001

She scares me.

-- Anonymous, June 12, 2001

Oh me too. But it's interesting to read at least.

-- Anonymous, June 12, 2001

True, true.

You have to take out the space between the % and the 20 for my pretty china link to work, too. I'm so happy I have china now.

-- Anonymous, June 12, 2001

"They said that according to the contract with the car, I have to be in school for four years. My dad told me I need to read the contract I had signed. So, after I got off the phone with him, I marched out to get the damn contract, because I knew it didn't say shit about four years. I read it again, and I was right. The four thousand I owe them is set up to be paid so much a month over four years, and it says that I have to maintain status as a full-time college student with passing grades. It doesn't say I have to be a college student for four fucking years. Yes, the plan when I got the car was that I would go for four years, but well, plans change."

Um, yes, that does say you have to be a college student for the four years while you are paying them back. Brat.

-- Anonymous, June 12, 2001

What entry is that one? The best thing I like is that people are so mean to her in the forum. They just lay it out there.

-- Anonymous, June 12, 2001

Hee. RobynLynn just wrote me on 3WA chat: Can I ask you a question? Do you ever wonder why we've joined a community populated almost entirely of big fucking losers? I enjoy doing my journal and all, but by and large, the journalling community is full of people that irritate the shit out of me.

So true.

-- Anonymous, June 12, 2001

Hee hee. But we're not!

-- Anonymous, June 12, 2001

Well, obviously. Where's the Teri?

-- Anonymous, June 12, 2001

Do you ever go to Wunderblog?

anything else good in chat?

-- Anonymous, June 12, 2001

Sometimes. But her links are usually boring.

I had to leave the chat to get some work done.

-- Anonymous, June 12, 2001

I found an outfit - Ann Taylor done me right. The red one was too red, but I found a beautiful deep pink silk shangtung dress with a wraparound shirt thing in the same silk. Very nice.

-- Anonymous, June 12, 2001

I can't get that digink site to come up. Wah.

-- Anonymous, June 12, 2001

digink.net?

Oh, it's a trainwreck of beauty.

-- Anonymous, June 12, 2001

What a little brat? She's what? 18? Is she pregnant, or something?

-- Anonymous, June 12, 2001

She's 19. She had some Crisis and it seemed liek seh was, but I think she either wasn't or had an abortion because shes talked about getting her period etc. recently.

-- Anonymous, June 12, 2001

That's what I figured. She also said something about how when she had her chance to be a teenage mother, she grabbed the vacuum. Nice.

Why, then, does she refer to her boyfriend as her babydaddy? Is she just retarded?

-- Anonymous, June 12, 2001

She talks about getting laid a lot. Trashy.

-- Anonymous, June 12, 2001

I think she's jokingly being Springer-esque. But she IS Springer quality.

She said that? About the vacuum???

-- Anonymous, June 12, 2001

YES! She said that in one of her more recent mailtos. So awful.

This always makes me giggle:

http://www.goldkit.com/buy.htm

-- Anonymous, June 12, 2001

I didn't realized you bought dental gold! You go, girl.

-- Anonymous, June 12, 2001

A girl's got to make a buck, I say.

They also run radio ads late at night on AM stations. The first time I head it (I was driving to NO and wanted to get a weather report), I almost drove off the road.

-- Anonymous, June 12, 2001

Who is Pedro?

-- Anonymous, June 12, 2001

Pedro Martinez, Pitcher extraordinaire.

-- Anonymous, June 12, 2001

That's funny.

She's trashy, but entertaining. Unless you read her entries from teh spring of her senior year. Horribly boring and depressing.

-- Anonymous, June 12, 2001

Hmm. I think I'll pass. Work. Hate.

And my dad emailed me this morning saying he may have to postpone my coming home to "talk". If we don't do it this weekend, it'll be at least three weeks before I'm free. And that's getting to be too late.

-- Anonymous, June 12, 2001

They don't want to do it over the phone? Have you been back since Christmas?

-- Anonymous, June 12, 2001

Nope. I don't know, I think we're going to have to. I just wish it was over with.

-- Anonymous, June 12, 2001

At least with it being this weekend, you only have to think about it for 3 more days. Hadn't they already booked your ticket?

In that digink entry abuot the car, she sounds like such an 18 year old snot. Your parents bought you a car and want you to go to school for real. And you're pissed? Get a clue.

-- Anonymous, June 12, 2001

I like how people yelled at her for that, too.

Yeah, but it was a miles- freebie and I think it's easy to cancel/change.

-- Anonymous, June 12, 2001

Where's the entry where she talks about her car?

-- Anonymous, June 12, 2001

http://www.digink.net/2001/march/575.html

Be prepared.

-- Anonymous, June 12, 2001

It's the link Hannah posted up there somewhere. It's truly 18 year old garbage. I just reread the one where she talked abotu Crisis I. She must've been pregnant. I can't see what else it could've been. Too bad she took down the thread about getting kicked out of her apt. All her roommates posted. It was brilliant.

-- Anonymous, June 12, 2001

Teri - Christina Grijalva says congrats! She's moving to Boston to go to MIT's business grad school in the fall. Geez is that girl smart.

-- Anonymous, June 12, 2001

Sloan. Lordy. My friend Mia is there now. Mia Paskowitz, if she's taken her husband's name- she was undecided last I saw her.

-- Anonymous, June 12, 2001

What a BRAT! I can't get over that girl's annoying-ness. She sucks.

-- Anonymous, June 12, 2001

Tell her I said thanks. She's crazy smart. Mercy. Is she going to sell her condo, I guess?

-- Anonymous, June 12, 2001

I would imagine. Or rent it out. It's a 2 year program. But she's still dating that guy who lives in Michigan. She told me to call her and we could discuss the woes of long distance. But they've been doing it for a year now.

I know. Katie Trame is my new nemesis. But maybe I was like that at 18. Thinking my mom didn't know what she was talking about when clearly I was the clueless brat.

-- Anonymous, June 12, 2001

Ugh. I'm crabby. I just realized I have a whole other section to write. I thought I was all done. I hate International product versions.

-- Anonymous, June 12, 2001

This iBook gives me major headaches behind my eyes.

Why am I so blue?

-- Anonymous, June 12, 2001

Because you're not in Vegas?

Did you find a pattern that you like? Hannah, congratulations on finding a china pattern - that will be beautiful with your Chrysanthemum.

-- Anonymous, June 12, 2001

I think so. I'm very pleased.

I think I'm just going to slack on this section. As long as I get this draft done by the end of the day, I should be in good shape for Friday.

-- Anonymous, June 12, 2001

Did I? No. I got overwhelmed and quit. Are those all patterns or just discontinued ones?

I'm just excited to get showered with presents. Hannah - you are so getting earrings from Tiffany's.

-- Anonymous, June 12, 2001

All the patterns.

Did Kevin email you?

-- Anonymous, June 12, 2001

I mean, probably not all the patterns in the world, but a good bit of the most popular ones.

Finished my book. Oh yeah.

-- Anonymous, June 12, 2001

No. I was just thinking about it again. I mean, you know you are. did you get him anything in addition to the margarita set?

-- Anonymous, June 12, 2001

I'm going to drag myself to go work out. Joy. Hope y'all have good, non-boring evenings.

-- Anonymous, June 12, 2001

You can find the twelve most popular patterns at www.beverlybremer.com.

-- Anonymous, June 12, 2001

A shirt.

I'm going spinning tonight. Yay me.

-- Anonymous, June 12, 2001

The good thing about going with a popular pattern, too, is that you'll be able to pick up more estate silver than if you have a more obscure pattern.

-- Anonymous, June 12, 2001

Which is definitely a major advantage to going with Royal Danish. And I prefer Estate Silver, anyway.

-- Anonymous, June 12, 2001

Ugh. My dad just emailed me. I'll forward it to y'all.
