Are you doing anything exciting this summer? Or is summer just like the rest of the year for you, except hotter?

Well, exciting is such a relative term...whats exciting to me might not be to someone else...for example...I just got my G4 733Mz computer...how exciting!! But in general...when you work...summer is pretty much like the rest of the year (unless you're a teacher). A weekend trip here or there...we already did the big trip this year...to Disneyland. So thats it! Not too exciting....

Well, saying that my summer will be like "the rest of my year" is in itself problematic. Last August, I was in Romania. Then I spent two months in Illinois, three months in Washington (for a job that fell through), a month in Illinois, a month in England and Belgium, and now I'm back in Illinois, until September, when I move to Scotland.

So the fact that I will spend this summer holding down a mostly-full-time job is, in fact, atypical.

If I weren't moving to Europe in the fall, I'd spend at least a few weeks there this summer, doing a volunteer camp; but I need to save money. So the most exciting place I'll be is Ohio. Fun!

Now if this Chicago weather would just decide what it wants to be, we'd all be happy.

I just want to say, when I first came here today and saw the two topics, my mind formed the conjunction, "Summer babes" Then I clicked into this one and realized my mistake.

I must say, I was disappointed as I wanted to make comments about hot summer babes -- though I was curious, why it would interest you -- but then maybe, you had a realization or something and leaned to the lez lately and we'd have something in common -- not the lez part, the summer babes you know.

I did try to date a lesbian once, but she wasn't interested. But that's not what I'm doing for summer. I think I'm going to ride the bus downtown actually.

I'm doing Bar Review... *Far* more exhausting than my doctoral exams and defense back in '91/'92...

I wish I could be flirting with scantily-clad summer babes, but, alas- - I'm working through the Civil Code.

I'm going to Pennsic for the first time!

It's the big SCA camping event of the year, two weeks in scenic Pennsylvania, lots of fighting, dancing, classes, shopping, and unsanitary living conditions! Yay!

Yeah, when you work full-time all year 'round, the summer months are like the others, except warmer... and it's daylight when I go to work and daylight when I get out of work, that's nice... My wife is a middle school math teacher, so in a few days she will be free to play tennis and read books and do gardening stuff until Labor Day weekend sneaks up.

This summer will be different from past summers for me: my eldest child (who is three yrs older than you, Jen) is getting married at the end of July. I've never been a father-in-law before.

I'm gonna go visit the family in the great sunshine state. And then I'm gonna wish that I could stay. And then I'm gonna remember how I can't bcause of dragonlady. And then I'm gonna pout. And then I'm gonna play golf. And then I'm gonna go surf. And then I'm gonna play golf. And then, to top it all off, I'm gonna get naked with a summer babe and have sex for the first time in a long, long time.

I like springs a lot! They're so cool - convert kinetic energy to potential energy and back! Oh. THAT spring.

I'm gonna visit my family in the Aloha state. Then I'm coming back. Then I'll take up bicycling like a maniac as a sport.
