Hello, I would like some advice on how to grow apricots from stones. I would also appreciate any tips on maintaining them in the area of Louisville Ky. Thanks much

Hi Danny, You can grow trees from seed, the best way is to prepare a nursery bed plant all the seeds as deep as the seed is thick and lightly much some may not come up, transplant the best ones in winter into pots and bury the pots, let them grow repot as needed, they can stay in the buried pot system until they bloom take notes on the dates some may be sooner than others, cull the trees that do measure up, they may set fruit in the pots, if so good! let each tree ripen one or two so you can observe the growth and taste the fruit, cull the ones that don't measure up. When you find the one(s) that meet your needs. Plant it in a permanent location. You can move the pots around as you cull and then plant the tree into the same hole when you want to make it permanent.

Gee, Guess I can't type and talk to my child at the same time. That should say; "lighly mulch" (the seeds) cull the trees that do not measure up. Sorry for the boo-boo's
