(NB Zama had a sour gas well blowout a couple of days ago.)

CBC

A crew of six gas well workers was lucky to escape with only minor injuries after a blowout at a well site north of Rocky Mountain House, Alberta. The sweet gas explosion occurred underground this morning and the six workers managed to walk away with only minor cuts. The area has been closed off to the public. The escaping gas is now down to a trickle, with very low levels of sweet gas being recorded. The gas itself is not much of a threat because it doesn't contain the same toxins as sour gas.

Answers

"Sweet gas", "sour gas". these are picturesque terms. What do they mean? What toxins are contained in sour gas that make an explosion more dangerous?

Hydrogen sulphide.
