Pot bellied pig

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread

I was just reading some past forums about pot bellied pigs and got to wondering about some of those old Hawaiin movies. Where you see a small whole roasted pig with a apple in its mouth. Well I was wondering if those pigs were the vietnamese type hogs or are they some other kind of breed?

With all due respect to Thor Heyerdahl, is generally believed the Polynesians originated in Asia and brought with them pigs and dogs. They might have been distant cousins, but I don't think they were pot- bellied pigs.

I know this isn't exactly completely on subject here. But speaking of pot-bellied pigs. I used to know a girl who lived in the city who had a pet pot-bellied pig,his name was Arnold. She taught him how to use the cat box and gave him baths regularly. Nobody even knew she had the pig except my sis and I! :-)
