Book on building homestead projects

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread

Just looked through a great book called "HomeMade (101 easy-to-make things for your garden, home, or farm) by Den Braren & Roger Griffith. It's put out by Storey Books, Pownal, Vermont, and costs about $15.00. Was impressed that it had clear, easy-to-read instructions on things from a saw-horse to egg candler, chicken feeder to small stable for horse, and everything in-between. Copyright 1977, but still available, as my daughter just ordered & received it.

Storey Books has a Country Living Catalog that one can order by calling 800-441-5700.

I just bought this same book off Ebay - I haven't received it yet, but now I already know I will like it. Thanks for you post.

I've built several things using the directions from this book and I am definately a seat-of-the-pants carpenter! Even so, I end up with exactly what I wanted....a feat that always amazes me! They must be good instructions!
