Just heard about frozen jam. Would like some recipes as I live in blackberry country! Thanks! :-)

If you get some Sure-gel brand pectin in the store, the package should have instructions for both cooked and frozen jam. However, I wouldn't mind having some recipes for jam that do not use pectin at all, like our great-grandmothers used to make.

Cathy, my mom decided one year to make jam the way her mom did, just adding sugar and cooking it down till it got thick. (Mom is 76 years old.) The jam turned out sickeningly sweet, because it took so much more sugar. Mom thought it was soooo good, because it brought back such good memories of her childhood.

I made cooked and Sure-Gel (freezer) blackberry jam years ago and regretted wasting the time and blackberries on the cooked jam as the freezer jam tasted so fresh. My only regret was not having a full- size freezer!

Thanks for the tips. I picked up a package suggested and there was the recipe! A soon as the blackberries get ripe, look out! This has been a problem in the past as they tend to get eaten way before I get them home! They are just too good! Thanks again. :-)
