organic solution to pear leaf blister mite

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread

I just found out that my pear tree is infested with "pear leaf blister mite"

My first thought is to introduce ladybugs - they eat mites! But these mites are soooooo tiny - will it work?

Research on the net seems to be a chemical barrage or picking off the infected leaves.

Anybody know of any alternatives?

Pick up a summer oil [ can be used with leafs on] and spray the trees, the oil will smother the mites. Gardens alive carrys a summer oil but a nursery near you may carry it to.
