I am looking for a source for perennial kale seed. Also shallots, walking onions, multiplier onions, and Jerusalem artichokes. Territorial seed carries some of the above, and so does Johnny's. Got any other sources?

The perennial kale I can't find anywhere.

I'd like to find a good nursery that sold lots of the fall planted seeds and starts, as above.

They used to offer quite a nice introductory package of shallots and garlic for not too much money, check for ads in a gardening mag like Organic Gardening.

Gurney's sells shallots and Jerusalem artichokes (1-800-824-6400, mySeasons.com). Look at Cook's Garden for kale (1-800-457-9703) and shallots.

Jung Seeds sells Jerusalem Artichokes, about $6 a pound, which is probably all anyone needs since it spreads easily. Walking onions? Keep my email and write me later on in the summer. I am getting some from my neighbor, and maybe I could send you one to get you started....

Pinetree Garden Seeds has the best prices on multiplier onions or shallots #B4, as they call them, 1lb. $3.49 or 5lbs. $14.95. I got some last year and they did very well. They also carry walking onions or egyptian onions. They can be reached at www.superseeds.com or Box 300, New Gloucester, ME. 04260. I may have some walking onions to share, just need to figure out when to pick them, they are already falling over and look ready to plant, wouldn't be but about 10-15 little bublets, if you want to pay postage, let me know.
