When I go into the garden with a spade, and dig a bed, I feel such an exhilaration and health that I discover that I have been defrauding myself all this time in letting others do for me what I should have done with my own hands. Ralph Waldo Emerson

I hope this doesn't mean I can't get my tiller! Amy

And when I go into the barn with the pitchfork and clean it out, I feel such disgust and repulsion at the smell and flies that I decide it is a job for chilly weather. Until then, a little buildup of bedding wont hurt a thing. And I wonder...am I defrauding my 15 yr old son by not requiring him to fully experience the country from the unique point of veiw one gains from the business end of a pitchfork?
