Canon FT-QL, scrap or upgrade?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Canon FD : One Thread

I have a Canon FT-QL. It's in great condition, I love it, but the little crank to rewind the film is ow lost. Is it now worthless? Must the crank be replaced form the exact model? Have you any suggestions where I might search for parts? It is my first camera, should I just scrap it and consider an upgrade? Thanks for your t

Elliot, A Canon FT was my first 35mm camera back in 1971! Your camera is now more than thirty years old and a visit to a repair shop for internal cleaning and relubrication is in order. The repair shop should have plenty of cast off Canons to use as donors for your camera's missing rewind.
