with signings (ie, a striker and a winger who can play) 8th without 16th, i think the signs are ominous, especially a certain new players quote "its amazing pre season is totally prepared for the Intertoto Cup!" wide eyed and worrying

FIRST. But the competition will have been "devalued" by the relegation of Newton Heath. Celebrations of our achievement will be barred in an international month of mourning as the press and TV rerun stories and videos ad nauseam from 1958. The Press will pour scorn on the Geordies for their joy at such a time. Our place in the Premier will be revoked and we will be ordered to swap places with "United".
