Salvaging into archives site?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Freedom! self reliance : One Thread

Hi all, I'm wondering if you still think it's necessary to salvage the old Countryside stuff? I guess it kind of depends on whether or not it will be lost should the Countryside forum be closed. Please give me your feedback on this.

It seems like Cside is staying until something "controversial" happens. I still think it's a good idea to save it, I just have been really busy lately. I know that people have emailed me with several categories they have saved to their personal computers. Thanks for your work on this!

Doreen -

Could you post a list of the categories already saved? I haven't gotten to do anything with it since I last posted a couple saved threads here, so I'm WAY behind on doing my little bit...

Thanks

Sue, the archives site is on the Lusenet list of forums. I haven't put all the categories up there yet, but need to. Many of them, I think from A to ducks, have categories, many have just one message. this is because it's a royal pain to transfer a LOT of subjects into a category.

OK, I added some more categories, up to 'getting started' now. What needs to be done for those who are interested: We need to put ONE message from each of the categories that are not yet represented there. Then I can set a category for them. The categories that are there already, can be added to. The following categories have already been transferred in entirety: Waste disposal/septic. Goats- dairy ad Alternative energy have been transferred in part.
