New Tank Laws for Propane

Do you know about the new 20 & 30# Propane Tanks. I have been told that as of March 1, 2002 that most of the tanks around will no longer be legal, (due to a new safety valve design) and no one will fill them. I have 2-30# and 5-20# tanks only 3 of the 20s meet the requirements. I was told last week that anyone, (in this area that is) can take there old tanks to Walmart, Fred Meyer's, Kmart and a couple of other places and exchanges the old tank for new ones and pay only for the gas. 30# tanks will be exchaged for 20# or you can have your tanks converted but the cost will equal the price of a new tank+/-.

heard about that last year. Can only by the new tanks,, but some of the smaller places will still fill the old ones. I saw a converter/adapter, for the old to the new,, but they still wont fill it
