Is there a way to get the computer to remember my email address and name so I don't have to type them in each time I respond to a thread? (Very, very lazy, I know.)

Yes there is. After you write something, and push SUBMIT, there's a page that pops up, stay on the page. There's is blue line that says "Set a persistant cookie". Click there. Try it on this thread here, after your next post.
