Cindy, Your garden is so beautiful, thanks for the walk. Love those colorful Zinnas! Kirk, the manly unsentive picture is just too funny. Thanks for the smile. Now don't you go shying up and hiding your feelings, all us ole ladies know that the strongest men are sometimes the most sensitive.

I got brave and sent in some new pictures! Even some of myself! but maybe I shouldn't have done that, I went to look and the photo center was disabled ! Sorry! I didn't mean to break it!

Have a good day everybody!

Oh, you didn't break it! I'll go check it out.

Oh my, don't upload any more pics, those are absolutely huge. It takes forever to get them to show up. Some are like twice the size of the computer screen! 400 x 300 would be a good size, some of yours are like 1700 x 1300. A computer whole screen is 800 x 600. Do you have a way to resize your pics Tren? You are scanning them in way too big. How many is there? 20?

-- Anonymous, July 30, 2001

The properties of your photo says you have Paint Shop Pro 6. You can resize them in that. To about 400 x 300. (IMAGE-RESIZE) I don't know what to do, the whole thing is locking up. See if you can resize them and let me know, but don't send any more up yet till I can fix it.

-- Anonymous, July 30, 2001

Cindy please delete them, Have no idea how they got so big! I didn't even think of looking at the size. I think there were 14. So sorry to have caused you any trouble. Please delete and I will resize. TRen

Ok - where are the pictures?

-- Anonymous, July 30, 2001

Tren, I managed to get 3 of them resized before Bravenet quit working. Even the Bravenet homepage didn't work. I did you, you and Bre, and Bre and the ball. And I can re-load them as soon as I delete the others. Diane, I can't put them in albums yet cause they are too big right now. We're working on it. Maybe Bravenet is back up this evening.

Don't worry Tren, do you have Paint Shop Pro? That is my favorite program of all times! I helped teach a graphics class at the community college on Paint Shop Pro. We'll get em fixed, you and me.

I got 8 of them fixed and on the site. They are in Members Album 6. Go see. If you want me to add anything to the pics (words) let me know. The site runs fast now! It says you cannot upload anything larger than 1 MB but it let you upload them at 1.5 MB each. I think that one of Uncle Kenny caused allot of the problem. It was like 5 times bigger than these. The rest I didn't save as you said you could resize them too. Everything AOK, over and out.

What a beautiful space you live in! And guess what!! We have the same color hair!!!

-- Anonymous, July 31, 2001

I love your pictures.Noticed the dried flower crafts in the background. Are they yours?

Gee,you kinda look like a younger version of me. Especially you in the royal blue top. I just love that color!

(Don't like that cleome, though! heeheehee)

It makes it easier to feel like you know someone when you see them in their natural environment. That is what's surely lacking with this medium.

Very good Trennie! That last pic was perfect. It's in the album. I can take that date out of the pic for you if you want. Do you want me to make you Outlook Express (your email) stationary with the sunset picture?

-- Anonymous, July 31, 2001

Thanks Joy - for the site. The pictures are all wonderful!

-- Anonymous, July 31, 2001

thanks Cindy for all your help. when are they gonna make these computers read your mind! That would help!

funny that you should mention my blue top Sharron, I noticed when you mentioned the colors that you liked in Pollys color question that we both like Cobalt blue, Yes that blue of the sweater, I love too. I call it Lobelia blue. And I always loved the blue Green colors that you mentioned too. I remember in grade school I wanted to color everything blue and green, a little girl was making fun of me, I couldn't understand why she couldn't see how pretty it was!

Now as for the crafts it depends on what picture you are speaking of , the picture of a friend and I ,was taken at Caprilands which is an herb farm, of the late Adelma Simmons, we went for a visit there,I have done lots and lots of dried flower stuff as we used to raise dry flowers and sell wreaths and such. I had quite a business going down in Athens county was doing banquets and things, special orders, they even presented one of my wreaths to the Congressman when he came to visit. But when we moved I sort of got out of that. Now it is just one of the things that I have done. My focus seems to change alot! For one thing I started suffering from allergies, which all started with Sweet Annie, soon everytime I worked with the dried flowers I would have a reaction. I have since found my cure of local honey, and nettle tea, but not before I got rid of all my dried flower stuff. Maybe it was Gods way of moving me on. Now I only make dried flower stuff once in a blue moon.

Denise we are really gonna have to talk, we really must be twins.

That is our house within the sunset picture. Guess I should put a clear picture up of it. But guess it is somebodys else s turn. the view and the fields is what I see from my front window and porch, and are Farmer Shaws fields.

It's been fun!

Tren...you said the photo was at Caprilands which is an herb farm, of the late Adelma Simmons. I always wanted to go there. I bought Adelma's book and she wrote to me in it and I thought she was such a neat lady. I didn't realize she had died. That must be why I stopped getting mailings from there. Do you know did anyone take it over?? Sweet Annie really got to me also.........I would break out in a rash everywhere that it would touch me.........and I really loved it..the Sweet Annie. Never did anything really wonderful with the dryed stuff but I sure liked growing it and drying it. Funny how things become "just something I used to do".

Dianne gard, Yah Adelma, wasn't she cool! The Grandmother of herbs! A totaly herby Lady! Dianne which book of hers do you have? Doesn't she have a wild signiture! I am sorry to have had to be the one to let you know that she has gone on, it's been a few years now, I believe.

You know when my friend and I went out to her farm, Adelma had just gotton married to this handsome strong 40ish man. It was so funny, this little ole lady and a man half her age. Made me wonder. But then maybe Adelma did it on purpose, maybe she found the one that she wanted to carry on the farm, which I believe that he did, and is doing.

One of my favorite things that I learned to do from Adelma Simmons is to make Pommendors,( Apples or Oranges rolled in spices of clove, nutmeg and cinninmen and pricked with cloves.} The girls and I like to make them in November so the scent will warm the house throughout the holidays.

Dianne, you say that you never did anything wonderful with the dried stuff but liked growing it and drying it.Ah, that was wonderful enough, perhaps!

Yes, we still grow some Globe Amarath, which I sometimes hang and dry. Seems like sometimes when I do something, I do it untill I am burnt out on it. I used to make Globe Amarath Trees!Globe Amarath Toperarys! All that detail!I have some pictures of the shop that I set up at he ole Farm Market, if you want to see what I used to do. What use is it anyhow? What we used to do? Where did it go? WAs it all busy work, like what a teacher gives the child who is done with his real work to keep him occupied?

But then, there is a certain awesome charm in a dried arrangement gathered in Autumn which perks up a dreary November day.

Oh I absolutly loved Sweet Annie too! It smelled so good! I haven't dared to get close to it in a long time.

I think one other reason I had to quit doing all the dried stuff was because it was so incredibly messy!

The book I have is "Herb Gardening in Five Seasons". Yes, she did have a wild signature. I am so jealous that you got to meet her!!! Thanks for sharing that information.....her marriage. So cool...I must start studying my herbs again. Sherri was such a dear and showed me so many that I have growing in the wild. I just get so distracted at times and forget how important all the smells and sights are to my inner being. I had a really beautiful herb and flower garden where our calf is now, beside the creek, but when we had the flood I pretty much lost it all and never got into replanting. I have cleared out a spot and now I just need to get started but I have been so busy canning and freezing stuff from the veggie garden that I never get to it. Plus it has been so HOT and Gary has been somewhat limited with his shoulder bothering him so. I guess I will just have to keep looking at your pictures and get inspired.

Ok, since a friend of ours posted a photo he just took of us last week when visiting from oregon, I thought I'd try uploading it here. I have my jammies on, and am not quite as LARGE as I appear in this pic, and we all kinda have odd looks on our faces (I think Brenda and I look like we've been crying!). If you look closely, you'll see our Pug, "Sputnik" on Ali's lap, who is sitting next to Lotus.

EarthMama, cool, I can't wait to go see them! I was just getting ready to yell at everybody to get their pictures on here, I took the chance, It is kinda scary, I mean well, you just don't like to expose yourself like that. I thought, what if I look entirely different then they imagine me, will they be disapointed? Oh and EarthMama, I'm not as big as I look in my pictures either, grin. And then you think the other way too, like , well if I put a good picture of myself on here, then when they come out to see me, they might be surprized that I look so bad . But now that I got started I can't stop, but I am trying to contain myself, there is just so many things that I want to show you all,and share with you. But, it's your turn, you go. grinTRen

Oh, I'm only HALF the size I appear in my picture! [snicker! Can I convince you all?]

I'm working on getting some more pics. I think I'll see if my brother can scan some for me when I get up north. Maybe I can get some pics of Julie too! [evil laughter!]

Earthmama, I absolutely can not believe it........you look EXACTLY like I had you pictured except I never really had the blonde hair, even though you had said that you had blonde hair.

Earthmama, what a cool house! Check out that stone fireplace! That is worth, 10 hottubs, 5 camping trips, and 4 horseback rides to me. It's all there, in that fireplace! What a lovely home.

Dianne, I know what you mean about it being too hot, I only go out there in the morning and the evenings if I can help it. Is this why they call them the dog days of summer. That humidity just hangs on them hills. Thunderstorms feel like an answer to prayer. I try to pretend that we are in our sunna, getting our yearly steam bath, that we are getting cleansed. Yah, Di gard." there just never seems to be enough time to do all the things you want to do, once you find them ". Was it the Beetles who said that, It is soooooooo true!

Talking about herbs, the JoePy weed is blushing up mauve pink here, and the Ironweed like the stately matron balances JoePys enthusiasm with deep purple ,While the wild swamp mallow blooms red and pink amist purple meadow asters. The flying flowers have sprouted their wings and visit orange Butterfly weed and the swaying plumes of purple Budlea. Every little clover is buzy with bug and bee colonies, and the Catbird sings the songs of many others in the trees above.

MORE PICTURES!

Thanks Tren! I havent talked too much about the house cuz I feared I'd sound braggy.....its sooooooo beautiful.......the kind of house we've always dreamed of. That fireplace goes all the way up to the cathedral ceiling.....( I could try to post more pictures of it I guess.) By the way, did you know that whenever you start talking about gardening, especially flowers, you begin waxing poetic? Its so lovely to read!

Diane, I'm not suprised you pictured me right, (although I cant imagine how you missed my playful references to haircolor!) cuz I did the same for you, member? We have a kinda cosmic connection methinks, cuz I rarely picture people accurately.

MOre pictures, yes! (and thanks again, Cindy, for your help!)

Earthmama........I remembered that you said you had blonde hair, it just never formed in my mind picture. I was so taken with the people in the photo that I didn't even look at the house. WOW..........major cool house. Long time dream for me......logs and stone...my two big loves in construction material. I guess I will just have to keep playing with my sticks and stones in my new herb garden to satisfy THAT dream.
