Evidence of underselling repo's in Private Eye

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Repossession : One Thread

Sitting here as I am waiting for my labour to kick in (tedious process let me tell you)I read my backlogged stash of Private Eye's. Eye #1031 June 29 - July 12th 2001. Page 32 - A full page ad for Government Auction News.

"Every month GAN will guide you to thousands of bargains like these..." reads the bold text. Neatly photographed above is a lovely house - with the caption: " 2 beds..3 miles to sea Lincolnshire..REPOSSESSION....Auction price 8,300"

There was me thinking there was a level playing field in the advertisement and sale of repossessed properties...Shome mishtake surely? I can't claim to know Lincolnshire too well but I doubt you can buy a house in that neck of the woods for that price these days. Evidence of underselling in actually in print. Might be of use to someone who is fed the usual denial line by Lenders. Naughty Private Eye. Maybe they would like to run an expose for us on this issue in addition to the Grabby article a while back.

Any idea which estate agents and lenders are connected to this 'scheme'?
