greenspun.com : LUSENET : Beyond the Sidewalks : One Thread

I'm picking up copies of "Disease and Insect Control Programs for Homegrown Fruit in KY including Organic Alternatives" for the O.G.club. If you would like a copy too,let me know and I'll get some extras.I'll check back,in a few days.

It covers not only apples but pears, cherries, plums, peaches, brambles, strawberries, grapes, and blueberies.

No cost.I'll mail book rate. Not a problem. Pass on the favor down the road to someone else.

sharon, if you think that things would be applicable to Michigan, I would really like a copy also. :>)

How nice you are. I'd like a copy of that. What zone are you? Sherry

It covers a wide range of diseases and insects and would be applicable over most of the country, with maybe the west excepted. May not have everything you'd encounter at your place, but most. Organic recommendations are still rather hard to come by from extension, so I was pleased to find them included here in this pub.

Down the road,I'll get up with the one Fayette Co agent, who's organic, and get some literature recommendations from her.Maybe she knows some more freebies.Need to touch base anyway. But prob not till after frost :0) I'll keep you posted.

Sherry,I'm a warm and wet and and fungi and buggy Zone 6. Crape myrtle will survive here, but not get particularly big. I can get my annual blue salvia(farinacea ?sp) to overwinter too. Not sure on hardy begonia, here, yet.Had some in Clay Co to the south, but forgot to bring it with me. Elephant ear usually overwinters, too, but not this last winter. That should give you an idea of the climate.

diane I think I still have your address. If not,I'll let you know. Joy,I need yours. Sherry,I'll email you my email addy so you can send your PO addy too.

Gotta go.... down to the garden. It's cooled off some from muggy 90's today, so time to work!
