Howard Bond has written a number of articles on unsharp masks. Are any of them available on the web, or can anyone send me scans of the articles? Appreciate any help available.

I'm not aware of any of those articles on the WEB, but some of those articles have appeared in Photo Techniques magazine. Back issues are available, so you can probably contact the publisher for info. Additionally, you could try contacting Howard directly, his number is (734) 665-6597.

yep, anybody who would scan them and e mail them to you would be guilty of copyright infringement. So better you get them from him or Photo techniques. Look on the back of the magazine his address is there.

Ricardo, I believe their may be an article in the archives of the PhotoTechniques web site. Please go to www.radekaphotography.com. Lynn Radeka sells masking kits for a variety fo applications and situations. The kits are $60.00 and includes everyting you need including instruction manual. I was always intrigued by the concept but it was one of those endeavors that seemed just complicated enough that i would keep putting it off. After being directed to the Radeka site from reading a previous post I have ordered a kit. Once I have time to use the kit I will get back to the forum and post a review.

I would have to say that the type of copyright infringement refered to above disappeared the minute they began installing copy machines in libraries. No difference in scanning an article and passing it off to someone. You can bet that Howard Bond, as a writer, has copied many an article to use in research for his articles.

This is certainly off the topic, but IRT the last poster, it's one thing to make a facsimile of a copyrighted document for ones private use and an entirely different matter to post such a thing on the WEB.

It matters not that copy machines are in libraries. Making copies & posting them on the net is illegal. If you want to quote part of an article and comment on it, fine. Copying & posting is copyright infringement. Small or large it doesn't matter, it is still stealing. But if you justify the illegality based on the amount you steal then I don't want to be near you on a visit to KMart.
