Anyone need an older Belgian?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Beyond the Sidewalks : One Thread

A friend of mine contacted me today. She alerted me that someone she knows in a shirttail way has saved a 17 year old Belgian mare from the slaughterhouse. Having done so, she's now trying to find a home for her. She drives, but may not be broken to ride, loads and trailers just fine, but is a little shy, apparently hasn't had much TLC. Reportedly she is no problem to work with. Said no reasonable offer would be refused (too many rescue horses already), but I don't know what that means monitarily. If anyone is looking for such a horse to do work on a small homestead, she apparently already knows what she's doing.

That's a strange name Renee. What does it mean?

Sorry I didn't get back on this. I was waiting to hear from my friend where the horse is located. She MAY have a home now, but I won't know for sure until my friend's friend gets back from the War --

(War? WHAT War?!) Oh, they're SCA folks, and I think that they're off to Penzic War out east. The horse is SOMEwhere in NorthShield Shire, and I know that covers at least northern Wisconsin. Perhaps the UP as well, don't know if it goes into lower Michigan....I'll probably know more later on the subject. Apparently a lot of people jumped on it to try and find the horse a home!
