Is racism a spritual issue?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : A.M.E. Today Discussion : One Thread

When we look at the history of the church, often times slavery was condoned. Native americans were taken from their land and sent to catholic schools and forced to learn about Christ. They were treated badly. Do you think that their are things that the church needs to be honest about in terms of racism?

Rev, certainly there have been in the past (and today) things done "in the name of God" that we can look at today and see that clearly that God was not in them. Unfortunatly there will always be those in the church who will push for their vision of what should be instead of God's vision. We need to work to make sure anythiing our church does is in God's plan and not some person's even though they beleive they are in God's will.

Boy, do I need spell check!
