Power Connector

greenspun.com : LUSENET : A One Forum : One Thread

I am moving a motherboard from a computer to a new Tower case. The original computer had a hard on/off switch which switched the power to the power pack on and off.It has a lead going from the power supply to the on/off switch then back to the power supply. The new case has a soft power switch and a two pin connector coming from it marked Power SW. My problem is finding a connector on the motherboard to plug this soft switch connector to as there in none in the manual marked Soft Power, I have found one connector named in the manual as 'Over-Ride Power Button Connector'. Does anyone know if this would be it. Also the motherboard has no manufacturers name on it only: FC for home and office. Thanks for any help. Wallie

From looking at a few motherboards here it is almost always 'PW' although you do dometimes get 'SB'

Perhaps I am asking an obvious question, but was the old case and motherboard AT-spec and the new case ATX? If so, you'll never get the motherboard working.
