Curious activity, I'm getting pinged, 354 times so far...

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Current News : One Thread

From this IP address is:

node-64-249-138-184.dslspeed.zyan.com

I've only been connected for 1 1/2 hrs.

363 times now, and they keep coming...

they are trying for port 6355, from a different port on their machine each time.

Yesterday I had reached the threshold amount of 500 hits, according to Zone Alarm.

This is NOT my ISP.

Weird...

If you go to their website, they are in bankruptcy and another company has taken over their customers, but it doesn't say anything about their computers. Bet they have been hacked and someone is using their servers to find other computers to hack into.

Have had NUMEROUS (as in hundreds) of zone alarm alerts in the last couple of days. (141 today alone) And Roadrunner sent out their "Alert" in an email about Sircam & code red, yada yada. Is the 'net gonna survive? Jeeze!

You know, outside of you guys, if the net went away, my life would be better...

It's knee-capped the local small computer stores, unable to compete against the likes of Buy.com, selling below cost, in order to push their IPO... yeah, they're a couple of months away from titsup.com, and have raised their prices where the local little guys can compete again, but like after a Walmart onslaught, who's left that can pay the bills, or their employees?

If your "local" your toast... funny thing is, the "globals" are stating to suck wind too... someone missed the point that there has to be a balance... if the locals don't have work, they can't buy the shit the globals need to fuel their machines...
