Insect problem with pumpkin plants

greenspun.com : LUSENET : David's Organic Forum : One Thread

I have a school garden in Pennsylvania. We have had a hot dry summer. Recently my pumpkin plants have been infested with a small white insect. It is damaging the leaves and the vines are dying. I want to save the part of the patch that has not been infected yet. Do you have any recommendations? We are using organic farming methods but are new to this information. Thanks.

Did you find a sollution, other than the one that has no doubt overtaken your patch - the cold. Quite often small suckers can be controled by simply spraying soap on the insects, garlic, neem oil or pyrethrum are other things to try.
