slabwood for building

Has anyone ever used slabwood for building any kind of building?

slab wood,,as in left overs from saw mills and such,, yep,,sure did/do,, sheds all the time,, when I can get the wood for free

Slab wood is primarely sap wood. It's not rot resistant at all, although it can be pretty. If your using it to build a temperary structure and you keep it dry it should serve its purpose for awhile. OAK

Tel you what, Daine, I'm a builder, and there is no one I've ever heard of that used "heart wood only" for building a house.

We take what we can get. And there is no rot problem, unless you're doing something very wrong.
