Walter Smith was ordered to sub him against Espanyol (polite way of saying get off or get sent off). That's my boy!

I miss the big, snarling lug.

Screach's cousin DangerousDave (there's a good email handle for him Screach?) our travelling companion at the Intertotototototo final had one or two cracking yarns about Big Dunc. What a splendid bloke. I mean Big Dunc not DangerousDave - well DangerousDave is a splendid bloke as well actually. Howay bonny lad - sign up and give us the benefit of your experience. It was something about dragging Jamie McClen along for a night oot with the big man. I think the answer "no" was not on the agenda(!) but it will be better if Dave tells us as I can't recall the detail.

It's a great tragedy that Big Dunc didn't get to play more for us. An awesome personality - I think he would be worth having just to warm up on the touchline - fire up the fans, fire up the players and strike terror into the opposition!

I think he was a better striker than Shearer after Al's injury. If both were fit now, Dunk would be better. He's more mobile.

Nick, Big Dunc (IMHO) was / is nowhere near as good as Al with the ball at his feet - Shearer is a rarity, he can (could?) use both feet and use his head too.

Big Dunc could use his head all right - that was his downfall - er, or someone else's downfall anyway.
