to be given away... (soapstone woodstove)

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread

Anyone in N IL want a soapstone woodstove? It's free, but you must haul it. It is in good condition, cast iron with fire window. We used it in our home, but it would be better in a big, open space. If you would like more details, please email me.

Jean, Exactly what is a soapstone woodstove? Is it a cookstove or just a heating stove?

I also live in N IL and am looking for a wood cookstove with warming ovens and a resevoir.

Thank you in advance for the informantion.

Wish I was in N IL. The soastone stoves are high dollar stoves. Looking at a whole variety of stoves, but none of them even come close to your price. Do you happen to know of a secondary market for different types of stoves like wood, pellet, corn, multifueled, & etc.?

Jean: Really? We'd love it! We live in SW Wisconsin, about 1 1/2-2 hours away from the Galena area (we travel down 61 thru Iowa or down 39/51 to central IL to visit family). Are you sure you don't want to try and sell it? Not that we wouldn't appreciate it, but..... maybe give me a bit more info as to where you are located exactly, and we can talk....IF you are sure!

THANKS FOR THE OFFER!!!

We have someone coming out to look at the stove tomorrow evening, so I'll keep you all posted.

Has it been taken yet? I know exactly what a soapstone stove is and would most definitely want it. I live in Racine, WI between Milwaukee and the IL/WI border on Hwy 20. I could come anytime to get it. I do want it for sure if it is available. Please advise.

This is my neighbors computer that I'm on. You can email back or even call me collect at: 262-632-2693. I'm home all day and night except when I run an errand but if you don't call collect you could leave a message on my machine. I WANT THIS STOVE BAD!!!

Thanks.

P.S. This is a great opportunity for us. We've been looking for exactly this type of stove.

I'm probably too late but sure would like to know a little more about your stove if it is not already gone. Is it meant for indoors...what did you mean by a wide open space? How old is it?

Thanks for the response everyone. The woodstove is now gone.
