yellow fuel cans (for diesel)

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread

In anoter thread, folks pointed out that you should not put diesel into red gasoline containers.

I went to town and could not find the yellow diesel containers.

Anybody know of a mail order or on-line source for yellow diesl containers?

Response to yellow fuel cans

Paul, that's funny, I've never even seen a yellow fuel can. I've seen plenty of blue ones for kerosene, though.

Response to yellow fuel cans

I have seen yellow fuel contrainers clearly marked gas!!!! BLue mark diesel as well as kero.

As for finding yellow diesel, try lowes or a home improvment store they have them or can order them. Might also try a local truck stop.

Response to yellow fuel cans

you can still use the blue ones,, deisel and K-1 are so close,,it wont matter,, for that matter,, if its for your own use,,, you can use just about ANYTHING. I have 2 cans that are pink (what goes in them ???) I get off road fuel in army jerry cans,, hydralic oil buckets,,(with lids still on), deisel and gas cans. When I make a trip,,I fill everything, so I dont have to do it as often

hi, walmart carrys the yellow diesel fuel can. You could also get a can of yellow paint, that works also. DO NOT mix diesel and kero or do not use kero in any machinery that uses diesel. they are two different types of fuel. Be safe not sorry. Lexi

I have a yellow diesel can but I've always used it for gas. I like it best because it has a good handle built into it.

Northern Hydraulics, Lowes, Wal-Mart

Cheapest way out buy the Yellow tape strip and mark diesel. Place on red can. Wal-mart has a 5-gal (w/1gal free) can for $5.99

stan, i didn't mean to step on any toes, just was worried that a person could forget what they put in a different can and use it for the wrong purpose, or another person picks up the wrong can. It happens. Any answer I extend will never be to offend anyone, just my 2 cents worth. Lexi
