I've never heard his gospel music, but I love listening to his music. Very soothing.

There are several artist that mix gospel and contemporary. Personally, I don't have a problem with it.

Aretha Franklin "Queen of Soul", none of her music surpasses her Gospel songs in my opinion.

Music is a form of expression and there are many gifted musicians around. There is another artist by the name of Oletta Adams who has a Gospel CD which, in my opinion is wonderful. I can also appreciate her other CDs which are secular.

I have more of a problem with Gospel music that sounds like secular. And there are plenty of Gospel artist today with that type of music. I can feel the talent, but the music does very little for me. If I choose to listen to R & B I know who to listen to. But when I want to be blessed with some real Gospel music, it dissapoints me to hear what I thought was gospel, but sounds secular.
