I want a Milk Goat!

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread

I live in South MS and have a few goats already. I have searched this area and can not find reasonable milk goats. Does anyone know of anyone who might have any? I do not care what breed, as long as they give milk.

I used to live in South MS and bought some nice nubians from Shirley Stack in Carriere. If this is a possibility, email me privately for her info. I also have a friend in Gulfport who has most of my old stock and their offspring. Some of them were really good milk goats, but I couldn't bring them to Germany. uncle sam is funny about what he will ship! Chris

All young registered stock. Two Nubian does, two doelings and one buck. Two LaMancha does and one doeling. Will barter or trade on milk cow. Bettie

Bettie posted this right on countryside. The LaMancha's are stock from my daughter that she showed for 10 years, and though outcrosses on the dam sides of my bloodlines, the Nubians were from my place. Her older Nubian is a wonderful milker, purebred, and spotted :) Vicki

You say that you have a couple of goats already. All Bucks ?? You don't need a purebred registered goat for good milk ?? I started out and still have registered Nubians but my best milker out of the bunch is a Saanen/Nubian mix. Good luck in you hunt but look for a goat with good "diary" appearance , no matter what kind she is. Good Luck !!
