Workshops

I am a massage therapist in Darwin.

I have qualifications in Acupressure and Remedial Massage. As part of my remedial massage I did trigger point therapy which I find very successful in my practice.

I find myself becoming more and more interested in massage and the anatomy & physiology side of things, if you know what I mean. I am in the process of finding out more about Myofascial Release treatment and if there are any workshops being held during Nov-Dec when I am next in Sydney.

Does anyone have any comments on this treatment/workshops or any suggestions on other different massage therapies I can learn involving the a & p side of things which are very effective.

Thanks a lot Betty Lum

Hi Betty, If you are interested in P&A a very good system of Remedial work to look at is the Muscle Energy Technique. I beleive this takes remedial massage to a new level as far as structure and function goes. Were myofscial release is another technique e.g. Transverse friction massage, myofascial release, trigger point, positional release, deep tissue. MET based on the Rich Phaigh techniques is being taught in Aust now by Jeff Murray Ph 0249573747.good luck
