Does anyone know of oil painting classes in San Francisco?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : San Francisco Art : One Thread

I'm an artist looking for instruction in oil painting and/or egg tempura techniques. I need a class that would not only get me up to speed again with working with this medium, but that would also be helpful in improving my range as an artist. I have a specific series I wish to work on, and I need to refine my craftsmanship and technical ability.

I don't need a college course, would prefer small class instruction from an artist/teacher in San Francisco, accessible via public transportation.

amsterdam art on geary (about 19th Ave) offers courses in oil painting, and other mediums as well. You can get on their mailing list and they'll notify you as classes become available. most are evenings or weekends. good luck!

For introductory and intermediate students, I highly recommend UC Berkeley Extension classes (SF and OAK campuses) -- in particular the excellent Larry Robinson. Mix of afternoon and evening/weekend classes taught. Also recommended is California College of Arts (CCA, used to have "and Crafts" in the title). www.cca.edu.

However, none of their schedules fit mine this summer --- anyone know of other well-recommended oil painting classes in the Bay Area?
