Is it safe for rabbits to eat sunflowers? We've got them growing like crazy here.

Hello Cheryl,

I have fed sunflowers to my rabbits with no problems at all. I just break a part of the head off and put it in the cage. They really seem to enjoy eating them. Rabbits also like dandelion greens, comphry leaves and willow bark as well.

they can and do,, at least around here they do. I feed my rabbits some once in a while,, cant keep alot growing,, too many deer and wild rabbits. Use them like a treat,, they contain alot of sugar.

Thanks for the info! And Mel, they're not tall rabbits, they're just short sunflowers! ;-)

Hi Cheryl,

My bunnies love sunflowers!! Their coats become very shiny. They also love birch branches. I have one buck that was determined to carve one into a flute.
