Teaching through actions rather than words

greenspun.com : LUSENET : To Hear Ourselves As Others Hear Us : One Thread

A note to readers: Many people take the exercises in "To Hear Ourselves..." to be vague examples of what one *might* do with recording. They are actually highly-evolved, very specific activities that *will* produce striking results in just a few weeks. The book is short because a lot of the teaching is expressed through the actions of the exercises rather than in words. Invent your own exercises, by all means; but please also use the specific ones in the book. I've spent decades developing them, and there's more to them than meets the eye!
