BUYING RAW MILK - SICK FRIEND IN NEED

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread

Hello, I have a friend who lives in Durham, North Carolina who is very ill with lung cancer. I live about 2 1/2 hours from her on a family dairy farm near Lynchburg, Virginia. She contacted me over the weekend about finding out where to buy raw milk since she knew my dad & brother are in the dairy business. She cannot take chemotherapy. Her last hope is an alternative diet program. On that program, the only dairy product she can have is cottage cheese made from raw milk. Does anyone out there know of someone close to Durham, North Carolina who would be willing to sell her raw milk....I'm thinking goat's milk might also work. Please let me know if any of you out there can help this kind lady. Many thanks!

I suggest your friend put an ad in the local paper to the effect, "WANTED: Raw cow or goat milk for my pets."

I would go to groups.yahoo.com and go on Nubian Talk and also goat ads and post this. If you have learned anything in reading the raw milk threads it is that someone with a severe immune defficency problem should only drink raw milk from a clean herd. Finding someone who just has goats that doesn't test for disease, may do more harm than good. And yes goats milk would be much eaiser for your friend do digest. Vicki

I used to live on the VA/NC border and was an active member of the NCDGBA. I know several folks who may be able to help in that area. please e-mail me privately for further information.
