We planted the small white clover in my orchard, for my bees! They love it. We are in NC and we planted ours in the fall. It needs to set roots before it get hot. I half of it at a time that way, there's always some there.

An old bee keeper told be that you can figure three frames of honey for every acre of clover--not fact just the way he "figures"! We can irrigate so it has blooms almost all the time! My bees are usually out there in the mid day suring spring and during the hottest parts of the year it is early morning/late evening, Good luck, .

That should read: "I mow half at a time--so there are always blooms for them. Sorry!
