Sheep & Nubian goats for Sale in Iowa

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread

My daughter is selling her little herd of 8 ewe sheep and 2 rams as she needs the money for college. She has been getting mostly twins from the older ewes.

I am selling off the remainder of my Nubian goats and buck - some are registered. They give good babies and one is an excellent milker - I haven't milked the rest as I didn't need to.

If these are not sold by Monday night, I am going to take them to a sale barn.

where are you in Iowa? what type of sheep? how much money? Thanks!

We are in south central Iowa. I would rather the sheep went to someone that would continue to raise them instead of a sale barn.

Send me an email with your phone number and we can talk. Or if you prefer, I will send you mine.

I missed where you had asked what kind. There are a couple purebred Suffolks, but most are Suffolk crosses. The little ram that we have is a Suffolk/Hamp cross and these give normal size babies, but grow quite quickly and are a really nice lamb. The other ram is a dorset cross and he gave us very good lambs this year - better than she has ever had before. 4 of the ewe's are his daughters, so the need for the other ram.
