John, I read that ST. Grimonia own Father is the One that had her beheaded, because he wanted to force her to marry someone. I think he was a king. Can you imagine someone that sick, to have their own daughter beheaded, because they want to remain faithful to God? David S

Is it possible, David, that you are thinking of St. Dymphna, who was killed by her father?

John, I was talking about St. Grimonia.I was wrong to suggest that her Father was a King, because he was not! St. Grimonia was the daughter of a Pagan Irish Chief. The Saint own Father sent his messengers, and tracked her down in France! The Saint made a vow of Perpetual Virginity, which her Father did not understand! She refused to marry, and her Dad, had her beheaded in 4/20? God Bless You! David S

John, It is possible, that I was thinking of another Saint, sometimes I do get carried away with my reading! I do enjoy Saints of the Day! God Bless You! David S

CORRECTION:
The name of Bl. John Mazzucconi was added to the September 7 list by mistake. His day of memorial is actually September 26. Sorry. JFG
