Hey, who's doing the report for Ajax-FC Utrecht? The schedule on this discussion thread says:

07 Apr: Ajax vs FC Utrecht (BASTIAAN) PLAYED APR 21 ... 21 Apr: Ajax vs FC Groningen (BASTIAAN) PLAYED APR 03 - MENNO 28 Apr: Ajax vs FC Den Bosch (MENNO) 05 May: NEC vs Ajax (MENNO) 12 May: Amstel Cup Final (BASTIAAN)

Yes, I expect to watch the Arse-Ajax game at the Mad Dog in the Fog in SF. So I'll take that one.

Due to the re-scheduling of Ajax vs Apollon, I ended up writing the Sparta match report (by the way, Jim: there was no live TV broadcast, so I could not tape the game for you - I'm sorry), which was originally Bastiaan's job. Which means that Bastiaan I will ask Bastiaan to do the Apollon-away one again. I'll do FC Groningen after that. Agreed?

I suggest the following match report writers for the games until the winter break:

18 Nov Ajax vs NAC (BASTIAAN) - 25 nov Ajax vs PSV (MENNO) - 28 nov Ajax vs FC Twente (BASTIAAN) - 09 Dec FC Den Bosch vs Ajax (MENNO) - 15 Dec Roda JC vs Ajax (MENNO) - 19 Dec Ajax vs Vitesse (BASTIAAN) - 23 Dec FC Utrecht vs Ajax (MENNO).

That way, we're making sure that I get to do the away games, which I always attend. I think it's better to plan it that way, cos we're not sure whether those will all be shown live on Canal+ here in Holland.

Jim, if you want to write one somewhere along the track, just give us a sign. There's a fair chance the scheduled writer will not have a problem with you taking over :-)

Agreed folks?

Bastiaan will cover the Amstel Cup night on 12 December. He wrote the previous Ajax-2 Cup reports, so he's our "Young Ajax in the Amstel Cup" man. It also fits nicely into the schedule: 12 December is in between two away games, about which I write the reports.

Question: Jim, do you have time to write the match report of Ajax vs FC Twente (28 November). I won't have time for it on Thursday, and neither does Bastiaan. He's even may have to skip the game.

Can you get that one? If you don't have time, I'll do it on Wednsday night, directly after the game.

The rest of the assignements schedule stays as-is.

No assignment made yet for Ajax vs Fortuna...

Shall I do that one (tomorrow's game, I'm talking about)?

-- Anonymous, December 03, 2001

Hey guys,

Here's my proposal as to who should write the match reports for the upcoming weeks (until AJAX USA IN MARCH...)

27 Jan - FC Den Bosch: MENNO

03 Feb - Willem II: MENNO

07 Feb - 'Amstel Cup double header': BASTIAAN/MENNO (one game each)

10 Feb - RKC Waalwijk: BASTIAAN

17 Feb - AZ: MENNO

24 Feb - NAC: BASTIAAN (I'm not going, cos it's Susan's birthday)

27 Feb - Fortuna Sittard: MENNO

Is this okay with everyone. Bastiaan?

-- Anonymous, January 25, 2002

Yo folks... Tonight's Fortuna game is the last match report that was already assigned to someone (to me).

Here's my proposal for the upcoming games:

03 Mar: Ajax vs Feyenoord (JIM!) :-) Up for it while you're here?

06 Mar: Ajax vs PSV Amstel Cup (BASTIAAN)

10 Mar: Ajax vs De Graafschap (MENNO)

17 Mar: Ajax vs SC Heerenveen (BASTIAAN)

24 Mar: PSV vs Ajax (MENNO)

29 Mar: Young Ajax vs FC Utrecht Amstel Cup (BASTIAAN)

31 Mar: Vitesse vs Ajax (MENNO)

07 Apr: Ajax vs FC Utrecht (BASTIAAN)

14 Apr: Sparta vs Ajax (MENNO)

21 Apr: Ajax vs FC Groningen (BASTIAAN)

28 Apr: Ajax vs FC Den Bosch (MENNO)

05 May: NEC vs Ajax (MENNO)

12 May: possible Amstel Cup Final (BASTIAAN)

And that will be it for this year, gentlemen... :-)

Agree on this schedule?

Cheers,

Okay, so the PSV Amstel Cup game (assigned to Bastiaan) got cancelled. However, we can leave the schedule as it is. I do De Graafschap; Baggy does PSV whenever it's played. Okay with you?

Cheers,

So, the Celtic game will be on Dutch TV after all... Which means Jim won't have to do the match report (unless you'd like to do it, which of course would be fine with me). But I can do it, too . Your call.

-- Anonymous, July 20, 2002

Oh yeah...

I'll write the Celtic match report on Wednesday, and (if Bastiaan wants me to) I can do Norwich City as well (to be written on Sunday 28 July).

After that, I'll be on vacation (Tuscany, Italy) from Saturday 03 to Thursday 15 August. Which means Baggy will do:

02 August: Ajax vs Manchester Utd

04 August: Ajax vs FC Barcelona

11 August: Ajax vs PSV (Johan Cruijff Shield)

I'll do the season's opener against FC Utrecht (18 Aug).

JIM: the Johan Cruijff Shield game against PSV is not on the matches page yet! Can you add that? Kick-off time TBD. (I'm after the kick- off times; can't find 'em...)

-- Anonymous, July 21, 2002

Hey folks: I will be on vacation to Tuscany, Italy, from 03 to 16 August. Which means that Bastiaan will take care of all match and news reports in that period.

The following match reports are his: Man Utd, Barcelona (A'dam Tourney) and PSV (Johan Cruijff Shield).

He will also write match reports for Young Ajax' first Amstel Cup games: AZ (Fri 09 Aug) and Ter Leede (Wed 14 Aug). Lay-out should be like all other match reports, but we archive them as news reports, just like last season, remember?

I'll be back in time to write the match report for the first league game of the season, at home against FC Utrecht (18 Aug).

HAH! How long have we been using the password for this adminstrator's forum now? Two years? Did we think he would ever return when we made it up...? ;-)

Anyways: match report assignments! I 'distributed' the reports for November. Hope you guys agree.

I will go to Lyon with a couple of friends. Baggy can not join us, sadly enough. But he will do the match report, while we're celebrating the victory in Lyon :-)

Willem II (at home, 03 Nov): MENNO

Young Ajax vs Huizen (Amstel Cup, 05 Nov): MENNO (We won't see that one, but I'll write a report the next morning, based on Ajax.nl).

Roda JC (away, 08 Nov): JIM (Your first away game! Write about it! You're invited to my place for breakfast the next morning [that's Saturday]. You can do it there.)

Inter (at home, 12 Nov): MENNO & JIM (Let's do that one immediately after the game, somewhere downtown, at Easy Everything or whatever. Last time, we managed to put stuff on the site from there, didn't we?)

NEC (at home, 17 Nov): BASTIAAN

SC Heerenveen (away, 23 Nov): MENNO

Does this sound good to you guys?? If not, please post it here. I'll post a list like this to this thread for every month from now on.

Posting this once again (sorry Jim), after having added alerts for me and Bastiaan. All alerts were deleted, just like on the 'public' Ajax USA forum...

Match report assignments for December!

Sun 01 Dec, Ajax vs FC Twente: BASTIAAN

Wed 04 Dec, Young Ajax vs Willem II (Amstel Cup): MENNO

Sat 07 Dec, De Graafschap vs Ajax: MENNO

Tue 10 Dec, Ajax vs AS Roma: MENNO

Sun 15 Dec, Ajax vs P$V: BASTIAAN

Sun 22 Dec, Excelsior vs Ajax: MENNO

And then... WINTER BREAK. Does this sound okay?

-- Anonymous, November 30, 2002

Yes folks - here we go: match reports assignments for January of 2003 (four friendlies in total - and that's it). Here's my proposal:

Sat 11 Jan - De Zuidvogels vs Ajax: BASTIAAN

Wed 15 Jan - VfL Wolfsburg vs Ajax: MENNO

Sat 18 Jan - Ajax vs Aberdeen FC: BASTIAAN

Fri 24 Jan - Al-Ahly vs Ajax: MENNO

Explanation: I chose for this order for a reason. This upcoming weekend, I will be in Groningen all weekend, for the Noorderslag Festival (returning to Amsterdam on Sunday night, exhausted). So it would be better if Baggy did the Zuidvogels report. The Wolfsburg game is during the week. Baggy has a real job, I haven't, so it's easier for me to write that one the next morning (Thursday). Then there's two games left: one on a Saturday (Aberdeen) and one on a Friday (Al-Ahly). Baggy plays football on Saturday, so it's better if I do the Friday game (Al-Ahly) and write the report on Saturday. Then, Baggy can do Aberdeen (writing that on Sunday). See?

Important notice: I don't think we'll get to see all of these games in full, so we will have to base at least some of the reports on sources such as Ajax.nl. Don't forget to credit the source(s) used at the bottom of your report if you did not watch the whole game!

WHAT YOU SAY? :-)

-- Anonymous, January 05, 2003

The adding of two extra January friendlies to the schedule changes our match report assignments for this month...

Sat 18 Jan - Aberdeen FC vs Ajax (BASTIAAN)

Wed 22 Jan - Benfica SL vs Ajax (MENNO)

Fri 24 Jan - Al-Ahly vs Ajax (BASTIAAN)

Tue 28 Jan - FC Volendam vs Ajax (MENNO)

I assigned the weekend games to Baggy. I'll do the mid-week ones, cos it's more easy for me to create some time to write a report in the morning.

Agreed, folks?

Yessir - here we are again, announcing the match report assignments for FEBRUARY! Hope you will agree with this:

Sun 02 February, Willem II vs Ajax: MENNO

Wed 05 February, Amstel Cup: Ajax vs Roda: MENNO and Excelsior vs Ajax-2: BASTIAAN

Sun 09 February, Ajax vs feienerd: MENNO

Sat 15 February, Ajax vs FC Groningen: BASTIAAN

Wed 18 February, Arsenal FC vs Ajax: BASTIAAN

Sun 23 February, FC Utrecht vs Ajax: MENNO

Wed 26 February, Ajax vs Arsenal FC: MENNO

Explanation: usually I do all the midweek games, cos it's easier for me to find time to write during the week. My proposal is to make one exception this time: the Arsenal away game. We will both be there in London and we fly back the next day, arriving on Schiphol at 17:55. So the match report can be written that night, at home. It doesn;t make much of a difference in this case, so I hope Baggy can do it. Otherwise, it would be three in a row for me.

Alternative option: Jim, will you watch the Arsenal away game on Setanta? In that case, you could write it :-)

Comments? Suggestions?

-- Anonymous, January 31, 2003

So, the first changes to the match-reports-assignment-schedule for February are already there. I did both Amstel Cup reports. Baggy offered to do the feienerd game on Sunday. Alright. So, this is the deal for February now... ;-)

Sun 09 February, Ajax vs feienerd: BASTIAAN

Sat 15 February, Ajax vs FC Groningen: BASTIAAN (my birthday; I won't be going - Baggy will)

Wed 18 February, Arsenal FC vs Ajax: MENNO (or: JIM - see below)

Sun 23 February, FC Utrecht vs Ajax: MENNO

Wed 26 February, Ajax vs Arsenal FC: MENNO

Question: Jim, will you be watching the Arse games on Setanta? If so, can you do one of those? Preferably the away game. We'll be in London for that one, and will be travelling the next day. If one of us (me or Baggy) has to write that one, it will be two days before it's on Ajax USA. Let us know if you can do the Feb 18 fixture.
