What is happening in our Departments e.g. Global Witness and Ministry since the 2000 General Conference

I am very much interested in wanting to know how our newly (merged)formed e.g. Global Witness and Ministry and other departments e.g. Department Christian Education, are doing since the General Conference in 2000. There should be somewhere a web-site that are regularly updated as to what is going on. Can anybody please give some more information as to where to look for on the internet?

It is quite interesting to read what we are discussing around the Episcopacy. But what about General Officers? Can we also work out something to ensure that a representative bench of General Officers be elected in 2004? Can we have discussion on qualification, commitment, track records, and other?

Lastly, this department in question has been posting its connectional involvement in the Christian Recorder and has re-activated the Voice of Missions Magazine. There is a web-site for the department, which I do not remember at this time. Try to type in the name of the depratment without spaces.

Very Good point and questions. All elected posts should be subject to the same degree of scrutiny. Our Church will be better and the work of the Lord will benefit most.

I have a serious problem with the answer on the Department of Global Witness and Ministry. Firtsly, I (we) are told that the activities of this Department are reported in the Christian Recorder. I (we are) am in the Fifteenth Episcopal District and I am really struggling to get a copy of the Christian Recorder. I have on numerous occassions contacted the Editor, personally and otherwise, to do something. Yes, it was election promises! In 1999 an 2000, I have received a few copies ( two months late!).

Secondly, there is only a suggestion that there exist a website!

Thirdly, I (we) have seen a Missionary Magazine. I also trust that the 'old' name has changed to come in line with the new name of the department.

I am sure that the Executive Director and his staff can do better. Include us also in your target group to inform.

God Bless You

i am sure that each General Oficer will be accountable to his own actions. As related to the Department of Global Witness. Dr. Flowers is preparing a trip to Africa for black males. Believe me the officers are working, you just have to call them and see how you can help. When I want to do something instead of complain, I call and do my ministry within that department. There are always something that can be done. The Christian Recorder is still late but when it arrives it is good information. Have something specifically in mind before we criticize because they all have been kind to me. Me and the rest of the Seminarians at Turner Seminary are able to call on our General Officers to help us fulfill what ever we need.

I have seen Dr. Flower's email address and URL address of the Global Minstries in the AME Christian Recorder and has unsuccesfully attempted many a times. Is there anyone out there who reads this old posting who could give me the correct internet information, please?
