I don't know any AME's specifically, but it is likely 200 New York Firemen died and some of them most likely were AME. But we need to pray for all Americans now because we are all casualties. A little bit of each of us died today. May the God of Abraham< Isaac, Jacob, our mothers, our fathers, and Richard Allen bless us and keeps from this day forward, even forevermore.

Rev. Alexander:

I find your reply to Rev. Paris curiously intolerant. Why would a member of the clergy like yourself, openly attack another colleague [Rev. Paris], particularly given the tragic set of events which have unfolded today? Can't we let partisan differences rest while the vast majority of Americans attempt to regroup from this evil? Rev. Paris is a provocative poster and many of his posts are indeed long on rhetoric and short on insight. But, he is a pioneer in the area of information technologies for the AMEC and he served his country with distinction in military uniform when the time called for patriotic duty. For both, he is to be saluted and commended. The timing of your vicious attacks, I repeat, is unwarranted given the current state of emergency. Can't we all just get along??? QED

Thank you Rev. Stocker

While I am still checking I had been advised that a former member of Bright Temple A.M.E. Church (Warwick) Bermuda was in the Trade Centre in meetings when the crash occurred. She is the grand-daughter of one of our founding members and Former First District Lay President. In addition the Management Team of Marsh Management Services had their executive offices on the 95-101 floors. These individuals were hired by our Church to manage and grow the AME Reinsurance Company. I knew several of the people who had the horror of watching a giant 767 plough through their offices. Several of our AME students from Bermuda (under the programs of the coordinator, Rev. Dr. Leonard Santucci,) were in the building next door and were injured. We are keeping you in our prayers as our religious community is having a day of prayr for all Americans tomorrow.

God Be With You All

Reverend "Charles Alexander", if that's who you really are. My post this past Sunday was to inquire of the outcome of the rehearing of the lawsuit that was made against the church for lewd and immoral actions made by a presiding elder toward a minister in this church. Nothing in my comments were negative or filthy. I, like all ministers and lay people in this church, want to believe that we can serve God in a church that is holy and set aside for His purposes. This cannot be the case if permit issues of this nature to go unheeded and unjudged.

The newspaper reported the story as they received it from their information sources. I don't see where anyone of the ministers, bishops or the late presiding elder has protested what was written in the article published by "Pitch." Furthermore, if you read the story, and I hope were able to tolerate the filth, you would have found that neither Prince Albert Williams nor the Bishop in charge at the time bothered to appear in court to defend themselves. That alone suggests guilt on somebody's part to me.

I am a former middle school Language Arts teacher and I have taught my students to read critically. Why don't you try to do the same. We are tired of the ignorance.

As for my question of the casualties, I believe the members of this Discussion Board would like to know immediately of the loss of fellow parishioners and members of the church.

Sincerely,

Africa and African AME's share your sorrow

This is a very dark moment in American history. Death does not discriminate between white or black, rich or poor, democrat or republican, AME or not. As an elder of this denomination, I wish to express our sincere condolence to all the affected families and the American Nation on behalf of the Namibia Annual Conference of the African Methodist Episcopal Church. In times like these, human beings are always asking "why?", but I want to encourage the American nation to look to those hills from whence your help come. We serve a sovereign, omni-potent and omni-science God, who has all the answers in His wisdom. let us take our refuge with God, for the psalmist says, "the Lord is my Light and Salvation, whom shall I fear?" Remember that God promised us never to test us beyond our capacity, and I know that with God on your side, this tragic incident will also be healed over time. God bless and keep you and remember there are others who share in your sorrow.

To me it is irrelevent as to the denomination or non-denomination of any of the victims. We are praying for ALL, including the persons that did this dasterly deed. We had a prayer vigil at the church last night. A good number of members (and some non-members) showed up to pray for victims, families, ems. police, fire fighters rescue workers medical people. No one mentioned denomination, race, names, other than comments that God knows who they are. Lessons here are plentiful. We do not know the time or day when we will be called home. Each day is not promised us. How many were "pre- approved for Eternity", had accepted Jesus Christ? In a recent sermon our Pastor mentioned that one of Satan's most powerful weapons is doubt. At times like this we hear people saying that there must not be a God is this kind of thing happens. People doubting. We have to stay in prayer. This includes prayer for the leaders of the nation. The Word tells us this antway. The problem will not be solved by blowing some country off the face of the Earth. Be patient and wait on the Lord. Brother Bob McCain

Children of God,

We are in dangerous times. This morning, the World Trade Centers in New York City have collapsed because of two planes colliding into them. Then, an explosion has been reported at the Pentagon in the Washington, DC- Alexandria, VA area and now there is something else reported in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Truly, these are treacherous times and we as the "called out" of God must pray and stand firm in the belief of what the Lord has given us.

I am reminded of a few scriptures and I want to share them. As my husband says when he preaches "I wont be long, but I am not going to hurry". I take this very seriously, for the world for which we live is in trouble.

"Tell the righteous it shall be well with them, for they shall eat the fruit of their deeds. Woe to the wicked, it shall be ill with him, for what his hands have done shall be done to him." (Isaiah 3:10-11)

"Whatever you bind on Earth shall be bound in Heaven; whatever you loose on Earth shall be loosed in Heaven"

"If my people who are called by my name, shall humble themselves and pray and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; Then, I will I hear from Heaven, forgive their sin and heal their land"(2 Chronicles 7:14)

- New King James Version of the Holy Bible

LET US PRAY.

Almighty and Everlasting God, the author and finisher of our faith and the hope of our Salvation. Your people unite to beseech thee, in times that are perilous and with emotions that are overwelming. We do not understand the things which are happening, but we do understand that our thoughts are not your thoughts and our ways are not your ways. However, we lift up this world, which you created, back unto you. We lift up all of those who lives have been touched as a result of these cruel attacks. We lift up every family that grieves because of the loss of a loved one, or even the families of all those who are physically or emotionally hurt. Father God, please bless them. The word says "Ask and ye shall receive; seek and ye shall find; knock and the door shall be opened" So, today we come ASKING that you will supernaturally intervene by healing these open wounds of ours. Then, we are SEEKING the kingdom of God and your righteousness. Lastly, we are KNOCKING on the doors of your compassion and love, that your spirit will overshadow all of the evils of this world. Touch our hearts, souls and minds to be obedient to your will. And Lord, let us be ambassadors of your loving grace and abundant mercies. In the name of the Messiah and Risen Savior, we pray. AMEN

Devil At Work

The Devil stays hard at work even in the midst of national tragedy!

As you know, we have had some problem in recent weeks with people using multiple identities and fake identities to cause confusion. I hope you also know we are actively tracing them down. Some of this is just a nuisance...other moments are legal issues. All will be dealt with accordingly.

The id of "Rev. Alexander" traces back to another series of posting and incidents all which have been connected with negativity... some of the other alias include Carlton and even further back Dr. Paul Baker. I am not sure which of the above is a true identity but regardless of which one used...all are based on confusion.

Please notify me of future problems and we will research and trace down the source of trouble.

John

Please continue to pray for our city. I know a number of people who work in the WTC so far they are all accounted for, there are a number of workers and volunteers who need our strength and support. Please continue to pray that they can recover victims of the tragedy alive or in some condition many are just looking for their loved ones to know their current state. Our city is still reeling and there have been a number of bomb threats throughout midtown manhattan. We are in a situation where we need to hear a word from the Lord. Many of our AME churches here are holding prayer services throughout the week just to come together pray, minister to the victims in the congregation, family, friends, and neighbors. As I ride accross the bridge or drive down the Jackie Robinson Parkway and see the smoke rising from where the WTC once stood I look to God for guidance, mercy, and comfort.

Brother Jerome our prayers are with you always. I want you to know that every church in our state is praying for NYC. Last night in my town of Bozeman, Montana we had an ecumenical prayer service at the end of the service all in attendence lit candles and sang for the people of NY. Flags are flying in homes, and people are very concerned regarding the people of New York City. Tomorrow we will lift all of New York City in prayers at our church prayer meeting. I am sure you will hear from others across this country and around the world. That we are all praying for you. As you know NYC was my home for many years, my daughter was born there and I went to college in the city. I too grieve.

My prayers go to any and all who have experienced the loss of family and friends during the recent attacks in our Nation. This is a wake up call for America. We should all be reaching out to our brothers and sisters regardless of race, creed, religion or nationality. I feel so much compassion in my heart for those who have not experienced such pain. There are many in the "miniority" communities, know the pain of loss, rejection and discrimination but this is no time for retailiation of hatred or violence, it is a time for reconciliation. The victim must take the initiative to forgive. We are in need of total healing in all aspects. My prayer is that we see k the face of God and for Him to direct us in what to do next. Let us love one another as Jesus has said. Let's forgive one another. My heart aches for the families and for the ones who did such evil. This battle is not ours, it is the Lord's. 2 Chronciles 7:14 gives us clear directions, lets listen to God. If we don't learn this time, when will we learn? Peace and love to everyone in the entire world. God loves us, and I love each of God's creation.
