DLA/Abbey National

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Repossession : One Thread

After receiving another letter this morning from DLA on behalf of Abbey in which I find their tone extremely unhelpful and bullying, I was wondering whether it would be worth me writing direct to Abbey National to complain about the people they are employing to chase people for shortfall debts?

I have previously served a Sarn on Abbey but was advised that "the account was redeemed in October 1996 and the details have since been deleted from the computer".

DLA again want me to complete the I & E from (which I shant be doing) but state that as they have told me on numerous occasions, they are unable to provide me with any documentation which I feel substantiates their claim.

Any thoughts will be gratefully received.

Joanna, if DLA are unable to provide any documentation which will substantiate their claim, then IMHO they ain't got a claim. I would write to them stating that without substantiating evidence, you will not be able to assist them to move the matter forward, and as a result of this you assume the matter is now closed. That should get a response. Good Luck.
