"This is the day the Lord hath made. Let us rejoice and be glad in it"!

A whole lot cooler with the looks of rain here at our place. Old Calvin the cat, layin on the floor, don't even wanna move. I don't blame'm any tho--I don't either! Redone my dryer vent yesterday and that most wore the old hillbilly out. Gotta put up the new mercury vapor lite today if I can get ole jeep to help me a mite. I don't like it so dark outside. It is always better to have it lit so's I can see the animals rather than blunder outside and walk on a skunk or something. Makes for a lot of hot water, soap, cornmeal, kerosene and other stuff to make me smell presentable.

The seasons have changed here-I can feel it in the air. Fall rains will soon be upon us as we feverishly labor trying to get our things in order before the cold north winds of winter decend upon us. After that the SNOW! Where did summer go? What did I accomplish this summer besides protecting the a/c'd house! Fix'n to run a new gas line to the shop for my genset. I think a 500 gallon L.P. tank should provide enough vapor to run that dude a spell!

I will not comment on what our Gov't should do in retaliation to the terrorists and their cohorts regarding the act of war against the U.S. I'll leave that in the capable hands of our Leaders. I WILL NOT condemn them because we only know just enough to get us cranked up. Many innocent folks died Tuesdayalong with untold others injured.

We need to keep on our knees in prayer for this great country. We WILL succeed regardless of what has been delivered to us. We are at war with satan and the rulers of darkness. WE WIN! Jesus Christ is ready to come for His own. All that's stopping Him is the missing statment from the Father---"Son, go get my people"! If you are not ready to meet Him or if you have friends, family and loved ones who are not ready---NOW is the time. We are not promised tomorrow. Praise His holy name. old hoot. Matt.24:44

Amen Hoot!!!!! Me and Baby watched the service at the Cathedral today and it was really stirring! When ol' Brother Graham got up to the pulpit, he done some PREACHIN!!!! We were really glad to hear it. You could really see the Holy Spirit at work on some of the folks. I believe that this has awakened a lot of folks to reality, that we are not promiced tomorrow, and I hope that they get their hearts right.

As for you putting up the mercury vapor light,it reminds me of when me and Baby were newlyweds. We moved up on the family farm for a couple of years. Now, she swore to me that she was raised country, but the truth came out the first night up there. She was tossin and turnin and couldn't sleep, so I asked her what was wrong. She said " It's too dark up here, where are the streetlights?!!!!!! " What really told on her was when me and Daddy butchered a hog that winter. I walked in mama's house for a drink of water just about the same time that my wife was opening the refrigerator door. Well, mama had the hogs head in there chillin so's she could make some souse meat, and my wife saw that and LOST it!! LOL. As the years have went by, Baby has turned into a country gal sure nuff, course, she was perfect to start with, now she's even better! :)

My love and prayers to all out there. Just remember, God is still in control!!!!

Hey Unk Jake! Did they have electric lites when ya'll were newlyweds? LOL!!!!!! I jest had to say that!!

Well, we got the new merc lite up tonite. Guess what? The old dumb hillbilly forgot to "kick it on" before settin it up. It don't work! I thought very seriously about gettin the old Lightweight Itatca 12ga pump out and blowin the stupid thing off'n the pole. Then I was reminded that I ain't s'posed to be stoopid anymore.

Back years ago I was stoopid, acted like it, thought like it and everybody knew I was. Then I met this Man called Jesus Christ! All that changed in a heartbeat! I was settin here readin Jake's followup to this post and was reminded just what I was. I cannot imagine living without Christ. With no hope, no help and knowing what the outcome would be without Him. This "eternity" thing is something that most folks don't want to think about---that is if they are walking this earth alone and without Jesus Christ. I still can't imagine anybody not trusting Him. Call me a coward---I am! I'm not tough enough to spend eternity in hell.

Remembering all those who lost their lives in the terrorist acts Tuesday. May Almighty God grant peace and grace to the family and loved ones of the deceased and injured. Old hoot. Matt.24:44
