Hi all, Is there any way to get a good internet connection for free? I don't need a lot of speed, time is more availabe than money. Thanks, Joanie

Free ISPs are disapearing fast. However, many of the previously free services are now available for less than $10 per month and offer good intro deals, but they still have ad banners.

If you already have a good computer this may not apply to you.You may not find free internet anymore, but low cost is available. I am currently purchasing a computer, and that includes unlimited internet to most locations in the US. For the last 18 months+ I have been buying a computer and getting unlimited internet for payments of only $24.95/month. You pay that amount for 3 years and the computer is yours. I am very happy with how it works. The computer is guaranteed for the three years, parts and labor. If you see what some of the ISP providers charge, up to $22.95 you can see this is a real bargain. You either are getting your computer almost free or your ISP for a couple of dollars a month. The place is www.peoplepc.com Joanie, Hope this helps you out.

Talk to you later.

Joanie,

I've used NetZero as recently as the weekend and it's still free. Ironically, you can download their software at www.netzero.com (or possibly .net). I've always had to chuckle at being able to download software TO GET ON the internet FROM the internet. Maybe it's just me. If that isn't an option for you, email me privately and I'll get online for you and get a CD sent your way. I hope this helps.

Thanks for all the info. I will check them out. Have been off the computer for a while due to bad hard drive. Was expensive to fix, but still cheaper than new computer. Joanie

Joanie, another option might be a local ISP having a "sale". Mine did last year as a holiday (Xmas) special, where a year's service was $96 for the year. Might be something to look into in your area.

Bluelight.com went cheap pay with banner this month. Runs about $9 per month and you have to have a kmart visa card in use to remain qualified for service as I understand it.
