I can't believe Sept. is 2/3s over. Clazy!

How were y'all's weekends?

I went with step-brother and his family (Little Peep!) to Oktoberfest yesterday. It was a lot of fun. He's getting so big! And he has a huge old melon head. He looks just like my step-father. It's creepy.

Today: JoAnn visits.

Tonight: Wilco.

Tomorrow morning: job interview.

The first of next month: I can't pay rent.

My schedule, people.

You know Eric can barely stand to think of the Huff at a Wilco show without him. I guess that's what happens when you're an unemployed actor.

I should have gotten Eric a ticket here instead of the DVD player. I might as well have. It wouldn't have been too much more.

It's going to be excellent. Maybe we'll bootleg it.

Oh yes! That would be awesome. I bet they'll play a lot of their new stuff.

I'm sure Chris will buy him a t-shirt and whatnot.

When it became impossible to carry out, I revealed the secret plan to fly Eric here and have him use my ticket to the show.

Chris was like "You would... do that... for me...?"

I said "of course."

And, I wish y'all could have seen it - it was like he had to fight every ounce of truth within him to say "But... I'd... ra...ther...see them with you... anyway..."

I laughed and laughed. Liar.

Master V ordered an awesome Wilco shirt from their website in lieu of being able to see them Friday. He wore it for the show. It was very sad.

I'm about to get ready to go talk to Gay Jay about my salary. Wish me negotiating luck!

Tell him to show you the money, and if he doesn't, tell him about your Chinese gangland connections. He should be very afraid of Lin Chao.

Good luck!

Thanks for the Hard Lucy call! I was not asleep, but actually OUT. (Okay, okay, outside on my porch, but uh, there was beer there!)

I can't believe neither of y'all have gotten my mail. USPS!!

Hetero Life-Partners?

T! How was Texas? I'm glad you're back safe.

-- Anonymous, September 24, 2001

I'm back safe and sound and sick. I'm not going to Baton Rouge today, and I may or may not be going to Tallahassee tonight. God bless this travel schedule. Could I at least fly to these places, get my Skymiles segments, and pretend to go to the meeting?

What happened to Baton Rouge?

Y'all Rob's entry? The one AB linked too? It's hard to read.

Sara's high school boyfriend, the one who's a cop in NYC? She finally talked to him last night and here's what happened:

The WTC is (was) in his precinct so they were on scene right after the first plane hit. He was standing underneath them when the second plane hit and he said everyone just started running. (He also said that people were already jumping [being pulled out?] of the buildings.) So he's running and there's no where to hide, no doors to get inside something and away from the debris. A few feet before the subway station he felt seering pain in his right arm. He just grabbed it, to make sure it was still there, and kept running. Turns out his right arm is completely shattered - he has pins and bars and steel holding it together and he'll be off the Force for a year. But breaking his arm saved his life, because otherwise he surely would've been inside the building when it collapsed.

When he comes back he can have any postion in the NYPD he wants. There were 2 men missing from his precinct but they've both since been found.

Squish City?

Okay, can we smack down the people who use the MATH board to plug their own forums? I think it's appropriate.

Hey, hi. How's NINE DOLLARS an hour sound, 20 hours a week? Not good, right?

No, I didn't think so. Fuck the police, and also Gay Jay.

Man. Now I'm pissed.

-- Anonymous, September 24, 2001

Did you take it?

-- Anonymous, September 24, 2001

$9/hour sounds really low when you consider that the kids you're teaching are probably paying about $15 a head for the class.

-- Anonymous, September 24, 2001

AB - did you take it anyway?

I'm back now. JoLo is here and we just shopped 'til we dropped.

-- Anonymous, September 24, 2001

Ooh - where'd y'all go? How long is JoLowe in town?

-- Anonymous, September 24, 2001

No, I didn't take it anyway--I told him I'd think about it. Gah! So frustrating.

Al, tell JoLo I miss her, and to have a drink for me. Y'all also give Wilco a big kiss from Vince Chao when you go tonight, and think of his sad broken heart.

I'm about to go get gumbo supplies. I think it's just the thing for this jilted state champ.

T -- how was Texas?

-- Anonymous, September 24, 2001

Anyone have any good new reads to share? I, alas, do not.

-- Anonymous, September 24, 2001

Mike - is it cold there? It's COLD here. Not chilly. COLD. It's crazy.

-- Anonymous, September 24, 2001

And just to L_L myself one more time. . .

AB - I changed your link in the "about" section of the +1 forum.

-- Anonymous, September 24, 2001

No, but we might get a tornado.

-- Anonymous, September 24, 2001

Thanks, H!

A cold front came through last night--Mad Mad actually got to wear a sweater this morning! I hope it lasts a while.
