1cc syringe source

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread

Hi; I regularly use 3CC syringes for my animals shots but I need to find a source for 1CC syringes to give my Rabbits 0.1 CC ivormec to prevent Ear mites. I am not looking for ear mite remedies only a place to buy small syringes. I currently get stuff from Jeffers but they do not carry them. Please do not say 'search for insulin stuff'. Thanks Tradesman

A people pharmacy should have them. My husband uses 1/2 cc syringes for his insulin. You should be able to purchase a couple over the counter.

Ditto ,depending on state law will depend if and how many you can get from the pharmacy .You can also just explain and ask your Md or Vet.

Walmart carries them fairly cheaply, did you call and ask if Jeffers carries them, I recall seeing them not long ago in their catalog, was the small animal catalog. KV Vet Supply also used to carry them.

I'm an insulin-dependent diabetic, and in every state I've visited you need a prescription to buy syringes. Too bad, because there are 1- CC syringes available in every drug store in the country. Well, I say "too bad" tongue-in-cheek, because the laws that require a prescription are very much justified.

I think its a stupid law .They give them out to drug addicts free and us who want them for a legit can't get them .In Conn you do not need a script but are limited as to how many you can buy at once.

Tradesman, I had time now to look up from my catalogs the syringes you are looking for: Jeffers-Large Animal Catalog-page 47-item number LA-BA-11 1 ml. syringe 16 cents a piece box of 100 9.59 Allison Medical, Inc., Jeffers phone number 1-800-533-3377; and KV Vet Supply 1-800-423-8211 Master Catalog page 100 item number 80005 1 ml. syringe, comes with 25 guage x 5/8 needle 22 cents a piece Monoject brand.

That should fix you up!

Just a note to Patty in NY, you can get a "certificate of need" from NYS health department if you can show you are a farmer and need syringes to give animal injections. I know NYS is more strict on this than some other states (thank you NYC), but other states also probably provide this certificate if you ask.

Maybe you should just pretend to be an addict! Free syringes!

it isn't really the size of the syringe that is important but the size of the needle. syringe size is a "luxury" to make it easy. you can put 1 cc of something in a 3cc syringe, if the needle is the size for what you need.
