HH TIPS Flag Flying rules

With Old Glory flying proudly across our country, it's important to display our flag properly. Here are a few flag hints for you. The Correct Way to Fly a Flag: If you are flying the flag from a flag staff, the canton (the white stars on the blue field) should be at the top of the staff, except if it is flying at half-staff.

If You Don't Have a Flagpole: The flag should be displayed flat horizontally or vertically, indoors or outdoors, such as against a wall or window. The canton should be positioned to the top and to the viewer's left.

Displaying the Flag: Display it only from sunrise to sunset. However, it may be flown 24 hours a day if it is illuminated with a bright light.

Flag Etiquette: Do not hang a flag outdoors when the weather is bad unless you have an all-weather flag. Do not drape a flag over the top, hood, sides or back of a vehicle or boat. Never let the flag touch the ground.

If There Is a Group of Flags: The American flag should be placed in the center and at the highest point of all other state or international flags or society pennants.

What Color Is Your White Paint?

Touching up white paint can be frustrating. Even if you have some of the same paint, it probably won't match any more. The paint color changes as it ages and is exposed to varying light levels. If you really don't want to totally repaint a "white" room and you must touch up, try adding very small amounts of lamp black to your white paint to try and match what's on the wall.

I believe this is actually part of the code of federal regulations. Makes me think it is enforceable (but burning it isn't). Just struck me as strange. A codified Martha Stewart?
