I am getting repeated emails requesting "help" from someone named "Dee." These aren't homestead-type related issues that I can tell from the subject line. I'm not opening them b/c they each have 2 attachments.

If there's a Dee out here that I missed, or that you guys know of, my hotmail account is where to send stuff. I'm getting 2-3 requests a day.

We have a Dee on this board, but I think her computer is being repaired. She hasn't posted anything here since mid-September. Her email address is gdgtur@goes.com, if that helps.

Do you have Norton anti-virus? You can save the email to a disk, and then scan it for "bugs". Of course, you HAVE recently updated your virus definitions, right? ;-)

Also, in my Outlook Express email program, I can right click on a sender's displayed name, then Properties, and it will tell me the email address of whoever sent the email. Probably doesn't do you much good if you're receiving the emails to a web-based program, such as hotmail.

Also, if the attachments show a title, whatever.exe, I would be very suspicious. That 'exe' ending often is the method of choice for sending a virus.

'Our' Dee has gotten her computer back up, it didn't take nearly as long as I'd expected it would, and I've written back and forth with her a few times since, but I haven't seen much posting from her. However, I will send her a note today and see if she's been contacting you so you'll know if it's legitmate or not.

yeah sheepish, if they have two attachments you can almost be positive that it is a virus.......that newest one sends itself out like that. It could be coming from anyone that has ever received an attachment from you.....and also anyone that someone might have forwarded an attachment from you.
