it has begun

Well, it has now officially began. We know that we can expect more attacks on our soil, as I know they will keep their word.

Please everyone, keep the faith. You and I live in the best country in the world. We do not know what will be for us in the days/months ahead, but we must remain cool and calm. Please keep yourself and your loved ones safe. Be ever so alert.

If by chance any of us should not make it out of this due to the bastards that hate us, I'd like a moment to tell you thanks. Thanks for being here for the past three or so years. Thanks for building a family of friends, though most of us have never met.

Stand Tall.

Love Ya Guys and Gals,

apoc

We have all been on pins and needles waiting for this to start, now that it has we need to take a couple deep breaths.

Hope all have done their preps and can stay close to home.

We have every right to pat each other on the back, apoc. Because of what we've learned, we've been able to prepare ourselves as best we can for WHATEVER eventuality. Most of us said, "It's not just Y2K," but that sentiment always got buried in the hateful rhetoric. We know the world is not a safe place, that natural and man-made disaster can hit anywhere any time, and we simply want to be in the best position possible to handle whatever comes up.

The current situation is the inevitable result of trying to reason with unreasonable people--and I supported that policy for a long time, as most of us did. It was the right thing to do. For a while. Unfortunately, the government carried on long past the point where it was pretty obvious that no good came of it, in fact, that things were getting worse.

I'm just so damn glad that Bush is in the White House.

Bound to be "retaliation", but not really. They were just waiting for an excuse to strike again. If something happens here it is because it was already arranged to happen. Not because they were pissed about what we did today.

I agree Git, our nation does have the right man in office.

My daughter is currently serving in the Air Force. She is still state side. I am so proud of her.

God bless our men and women in service to their country.

I'm glad she's serving now, when the public is so strongly behind the troops. It makes so much difference, not just to their morale but also to their survival when in harm's way. Being the daughter of a "doomer," I know she's well prepared for anything that arises.

LOL Git! I just had a memory of my daughter and I chasing escaped chickens back in the coop in 1999. We didn't know squat about chickens, boy did we learn fast! She is my pride and joy. I hope I've done my best to prep her for whatever she may face.

Ha! Then you'll like these:

During a visit to America, Winston Churchill was invited to a buffet luncheon at which cold fried chicken was served. Returning for a second helping, he asked politely, "May I have some breast?"

"Mr. Churchill," replied the hostess, "in this country we ask for white meat or dark meat." Churchill apologized profusely.

The following morning, the lady received a magnificent orchid from her guest of honor. The accompanying card read: "I would be most obliged if you would pin this on your white meat."

To a British diplomat whom Churchill admired and encouraged at this time, who asked him how to handle the new danger [Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor], Churchill replied with a six-word telegram, which perhaps we could all use in dealing with our subordinates, if not with ourselves: "Continue to pester, nag and bite." And when your last speaker [Sir John Peck] asked him twenty-four hours after the sinking of the Prince of Wales and the Repulse, "What the hell they should do?" the old man replied, "We must just keep buggering on."

As part of the buggering on process Churchill returned to Canada for the third time and, as you know, spoke to the Canadian Parliament in Ottawa, in the Speech in which he described how the French generals had said that Britain would have "her neck wrung like a chicken" - and he replied: "Some chicken - some neck!"
